Tire Rotation
I guess technically it's not a tire rotation due to different size tires/wheels front and rear, but I was thinking of moving the left front tire/wheel to the right front and R/F to L/F. And doing the same with the rear axle. Since I have the Michelins, (about 6,000 miles) I contacted them and they said it's fine to do so. Not that I noticed any unusual wear patterns, but hope to prevent any.
So has anyone done this? |

They are not directional tires. They do have an outside and an inside. But as long as outside is on the outside of the wheel, they can be switched from side to side.
I contacted Michelin by phone yesterday and they confirmed that they can go from side to side. |

Personally, I would not do it because there is no gain on longevity and you may introduce road noise as the wear after 6k miles is on one direction of travel on the tire. As with all my previous M cars, I know tires wear fast. If I can get 10k miles out of a rear, I'd consider that a win.
I'm always scouring tire rack for sales, and will order tires to to have them on deck. |
