Tailgate Open Warning

I searched three pages and did not see an existing thread.

While driving to work this morning, a visual notice on the screen claimed the tailgate was open. I knew that not to be the case and confirmed this when I stopped a few minutes later.

I think this happened at least one time before so what might be in play here?

it’s common if you just upgraded software. if not, might be a bad sensor

I did not notice alert about latest OTA software update until leaving the office so not sure how to parse the technology.
If it is a sensor, I will need to wait 4 weeks until I complete a move to another state.

I would just reboot iDrive and see if that takes care of it

I am in the middle of an incomplete OTA update so I will try that once OTA is finished

If it finishes at all.

If it's already downloaded to your vehicle and you are waiting for it to notify you when it's ready to install you might be in for a long wait. Myself and others have been waiting months for the update to install.
