I downloaded and it’s been fine thus far. I would always download the latest software due to safety upgrades and taking advantage of any new or more useful functions. 2cents.

After some time with the update, it’s largely underwhelming. The climate control UI has evolved into something I’d describe as serviceable but the key-on defaults seem to change from key cycle to key cycle without a pattern we have been able to discern thus far. No improvement to ADAS performance or any driving behaviors, but fortunately no regressions either. Speaking of which, CarPlay connectivity has been highly unreliable since the update and simply stopped working over the last two days. (Being at the tail end of a family road trip vacation, I had little appetite for the whole reset-everything solution that got it working previously.) At the moment the vehicle will not pair, even with Bluetooth, with any of our mobile devices. I’ll have to sort that out this weekend.

I still believe BMW needs to put in a great deal of effort to catch up in this area. In the time BMW has been able to push out a single update for the LCI X5, our Mach-E and Model 3 have each received ~4 and ~6 respectively and the updates have been more substantive. Some bits are nice and imaginative like the “Halloween surprise” which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise I hadn’t seen in our other vehicles. But, I’d rather BMW spend less energy on adobe flash-esque animations and more on getting skilled embedded software engineers to develop networking infra, update boot loaders and automated regression testing that they actually need to prioritize.

also no issues, the CEL in the dash went away the next day. Just for the new climate control alone I would update it .. was just horrible before.

It took me several days to find the right conditions for this update to actually work.

I did the automatic update on the app overnight; then started the download to the vehicle this afternoon. It lasted about 20 mins or so. I was able to get drive it thereafter. I had to select CarPlay to reconnect my phone and all else was fine.

No, it was still set the way it came from the dealer two weeks ago. I have not had a chance to do anything with the settings except pair my phone.

I couldn't tell the difference with mine, nothing added, nothing taken away, no settings lost. If it wasn't for it saying it was downloading an update, installing an update, and that an update was installed, I wouldn't have known anything happened.

for those who upgraded to OTA 11/2023.73, what year are your vehicles? assuming all LCI?

also, European X5 owners report lost ConnectedDrive connection so all remote services and commands via MyBMW app no longer work. any issues with y’all’s ConnectedDrive services or MyBMW app remote commands (lock, unlock etc)?

LCI here.
No loss of function via the app.
I can’t tell any difference except having to reconnect CarPlay

Everything is working in the app as near as I can tell. I'm android auto and that didn't blink. Goog used to have trouble with flaky connects but they've seemingly got that fixed nowadays; its been rock solid for several cars now.

LCI built December ‘23. Took a week or two for update to install, but just finally did tonight.

I have a pre-LCI ‘23 X6MC, got the update about 10 days ago? I noticed a couple minor things—1) the engine start on remote ventilation was switched off, and turning it back on required consenting to an on-screen warning about remote start not being legal in every state, can’t remember if that was there before, and 2) it seems like lane changes when in assisted driving mode are quicker than before.

you got 11/2023.73? a lot of us got 11/2023.50 last month; you sure that’s not what you got?

1) it’s normal for Remote Start to reset to disabled after software updates. it’s actually mentioned in the release notes specifically, though I don’t know about the disclaimer you mentioned as my vehicle is a PHEV and preconditions instead of remote start.

2) can’t say about the lane change speed as it’s a subjective preference where some like it fast and others don’t. I’m of the latter so I disabled that feature a long time ago

Random question. How do I get rid of this super annoying prompt that pops up every single time I start the SUV? I've looked everywhere to turn it off without luck.

you can’t get rid of it, and since you have the LCI, you can’t code it out
