Whats the ratings system in the US? I wouldn't call them poor by any stretch unless they are limited like the lasers in the US? EU lights are fully adaptive, turn with steering wheel input, spread between cars you are following and will have either light on independently as and when needed
Was just pointing out they are not a ring as in some other versions. The ratings and test results are in the link above.

You get double the light!

Quote:
Take two identical lamps with the same bulb and shine them at the wall to see if it gets any brighter with one vs two on at the same time.
Your eye is not a good measurement of light as it compensates for increased brightness and eye is logarithmic sensitive. So even though the light output is doubled, you may not notice a significant increase in brightness, or even no difference if the original light source is already too bright to look at.

But if you use a light meter to measure it, you would get double the lux reading. And farther objects can be seen in the dark.

With double the light output and four projectors, BMW designers have much more freedom to create a better lighting pattern and better lighting distribution.

In regards to the G05, the non-laser appliance with one bulb is brighter than the laser lights (when lasers not active) with two bulbs. I would imagine that is the cause of the glare or at least contributes to it.

Even if the laser headlights offered ZERO advantage whatsoever..... you should still get them.

Ever notice that a base 320i.... looks pretty much the same as a 340i? Unless you look at the exhaust pipes or the badge.... they all look pretty much the same.

But in both cases... the headlights are the FIRST thing you notice, and make a determination if the owner "cheaped out" or not.

The G05 could have every single option available.... rear entertainment, bowers & wilkins, etc..... but if they skimp on the headlights..... it still looks like the owner cheaped out.

Get them.

Every time I see a G05 without I am happy the sales guy adviced me to take them just for the looks. As already had checked a lot of boxes so at the end it didn't make a huge difference.

The visibility at night is great but so it was in my last car that just had LED. The lasers are probably better. Can't really compare.

Anyway. I am happy I have them

Yes but will cost you big time. The few guys who had it done report it's like $4000+ & yes special coding is needed. Not something you can do wilh Bimmercode.
