PPF for already imperfect door trim?
I've got a 23 45e with shadowline, and had ceramic pro 9H put on the whole thing at delivery. The car had some fine imperfections in the piano black trim pieces on the doors, and my detailer said there wasn't much they could do as buffing that trim makes it worse.
I've read that some people put PPF on those parts, but I've never done it. I've now got 2500 miles on the car, and the trim is seeing normal use. If I were to put on PPF now, would it lock in the imperfections and make them more visible, or does the PPF cover things like that up and keep it looking newer? Thanks for any experiences. |

Yes and No.
I would do a mild polish to get rid of the bigger things. We are talking the Jet Black part though and not paint, so maybe mild polish +++ There is some Orange Peel to film, so to some degree, it does mask things a bit - mainly due to film not being truly optically clear IMO |
