Bimmercode/MHDBlack connection error after 7/2020.80 update

Hi there.
I downloaded the 7/2020.80 update using connecteddrive and updated the car this afternoon. No issues with the upgrade.
That update wiped out my ASS and rear tailgate coding (or so I assume) so I went to re-code using bimmercode and my mhd black adapter. Had no issue with this setup earlier this year when they updated the car at the dealer.

Now I’m getting a connection error no matter what I try.
The Bimmercode app was recently updated and downloaded a 50mb update.

Any suggestions?

I hope it’s just a glitch. I bought the MHD Black but have not used it yet. Just got the vehicle a week and a half ago so I was waiting a couple of weeks to decide what I want to code. Did I buy a obd brick.....

I'm able to use the latest version of Bimmercode with the same vehicle update version. Did you try restarting everything / repairing the dongle and putting the vehicle in diagnostic mode?

I tried a lot of things. I deleted the dongle from my wifi and reconnected after restarting the iPhone. I tried removing the phone from my mobile devices to prevent CarPlay from activating (after trying the original instructions). The only thing I didnt try was deleting the app from my phone and reinstalling.

I dont think its an adapter issue necessarily...I can connect to the adapter via the mhd app just fine.

Yes it was in diag mode. I sent thru a support request and he had me change a setting in the privacy menu (local network). Will give it another shot later today.

I’m wondering if an Ethernet connection would be more reliable?

Noticed that Auto start/stop cannot be coded anymore with Bimmercode. Physical switch to turn on and off on center console does not work now. Have to be on sport mode so it will not switch the engine off at stop light. I will see if Esysx can do it. Also on sport mode, on HUD it does not display the bar graph across the window. This version took some stuff away, i will probably found out more when i drive it a little longer.

Whoa! So now we can't code ASS? Has anyone else experienced this after the update to 07.2020? If I can't code ASS then I will not update.

If you have a vehicle with an ASS button, it's still codable. I coded my MY19 on 07/2020 after OTA to that version. The new mild hybrid variants that do not have the physical button and have a blank space cannot be coded to avoid ASS unless in sport mode.

Ok I feel better now. Thank you!

Well, physical button on my X5 does not work now no matter how many times i tried pressing it. Only way for me bypass ASS is to default start in Sport mode.

Doesn't sound right, but maybe there's something else going on. I could be mistaken!

Since this is unusual, you should tell us more about your setup if you want help trying to brainstorm or pre-diagnose. Exact model, MY, current I-STEP, OBD interface, iOS or Android, exact version of Bimmercode?

Even after all of that, if your ASS button doesn't work at all, the issue may not be coding but a button hardware failure. Still, might want to revert all coding to stock with a backup to get back to a baseline as well before further testing and observations.

I had the same issue with ASS. I could code everything except ASS using ENET and iOS. Decided to try a different adaptor, went to my trusty UniCarScan adaptor and I could code ASS. Right after that, I did received a Bimmercode update, but I haven't tried it again. I have another 2020 X5 to code, and will let you know how it goes.
