In places where 3-phase power is available, it seems that the on-board charging device can max out higher than the single phase 240vac ones we get in the USA (7400W). The US charging socket does not accept 3-phase, but the Meinekes (sp?) plug can, if the vehicle can accept it.

I think I remember reading that Belgium in Europe can utilize 3-phase power, but not sure about other countries there, or those in Asia.
