So, earlier today - a deer ran into my 2022 45e. Was able to almost avoid the deer but his backside hit the front grill. Luckily the deer is fine. Damage to the car:

Front grill obviously shattered
Active shutters - broke
Front bumper slightly bent - may be able to fix it or might need a new one


Can anyone help me with how to replace Active shutters? Is there a way I can just get remove all the active shutters and replace with front X5M grille? Really don't want to take it to the shop and want to try to do it myself if I can. Have someone who can help me but want to get the parts in first.

Lived 10+ years in this area - never hit a deer. Got my first BMW and hit one within 2 months. FML

Glad you are ok.. I hit one at midnight back when I lived in Missouri and it almost went through the windshield. sounds like this could get a little pricey. Might want to get insurance to cover it.

I'm not sure about removing the active shutters as it can affect the cooling / heating system during winter as they remain closed and open when the car need more air to cool the engine

Thanks. Trying to find the parts numbers for active grille - but that's been tough to find so far.

There is so much plastic in and behind this grille - some of that broke too. Will have to open it up again this weekend and see what is intact and what's missing.
