Manual Tailgate on X5M

Does anybody know if the hands free tailgate removal also impacting M models? I got a buildsheet from the dealer today and it clearly mentions hand-free tailgate operetaion delete but sales person confirmed that he checked both the tailgate and liftgate and both are automatic.

So now I'm confused as to why it is in the build-sheet if it is not deleted.

Ask him if it goes back up automatically

Isn’t hands free tailgate operation the feature that you can kick your foot under the bumper and the tailgate opens? I have it on mine and it’s not available with the spare tire. So if you selected spare tire, you’ll lose that. Otherwise, I suspect it’s due to the ‘ol supply chain.

I see the delete on a new x5m I priced on the website.

All x5ms have spare tires so possibly the delete is automatic because of that.

I ordered mine with the mobility kit instead of the spare tire.

this inquiry is moot. when the motorized lower tailgate is deleted (code 32W), it neither lowers nor raises automatically. his code 32X is different; he's losing the kick-to-open feature

you're confusing deletion of the motorized lower tailgate (code 32W) with deletion of the kick-to-open sensor (code 32X, see photo)

your CA is correct that your lower tailgate is automatic (motorized) since you don't have code 32W. further, 32W comes with a $150 credit while 32X comes with a $100 credit, so again, they're different deletions

That was kinda the joke. I was thinking the salesman was trying to be tricky and say it automatically went (fell) down.

if he chose the spare tire, removal of the kick-to-open feature is a feature requirement. a credit isn't given in that case cuz he's paying for one feature over another. a credit is given in instances when features or options that would otherwise be present are deleted.

can you clarify something, though? are you certain the F95 loses the KTO feature with spare tire? that's not the case with the G05 which loses the KTO feature if one chooses the tow hitch; it still keeps the KTO feature with spare tire

I have the spare tire and kick to open. my car is a 10/21 build x5m.

However, if you build a new x5m on the website today, you'll see the kick to open feature is removed on the x5m.

Thanks a lot of the explaination. That makes me feel a lot better. I don't mind losing the kick to open feature as we have it on wife's Honda Odyssey and never really use it. It only works half the time and rest people just stare at why the person is kicking the vehicle

That's makes the decision a bit easier between the two vehicles that I was considering MBB with Silverstone interior (which shows this deletion) or Donington Grey with Sakhir Orange. Personally, I prefer the orange interior but MBB is way better exterior color that I am willing to let it go. Also, I was surprised to see that MBB also has B&O package, which I thought was removed from 2022 model due to shortage.
