Ceramic Windshield Tint

I am debating between 50% or 40% ceramic tint on the windshield. I previously had 50% on a Macan S that looked nice, but wondering if anyone had pictures to share of windshield tint options on the X5.

So, ceramic windshield tint does not interfere with the HUD system?

No I don't believe so. Ceramic tint is the highest quality tint option available, and I have always done 50% on the windshield. It does not affect any HUD functionality or reduce any signal interference from the electronics. It helps reduce heat, UV rays and provides a bit more privacy--not to mention it looks awesome from the exterior. No need to wear sunglasses, too.

I am likely going with 50% and will report back next week with before and after pictures. I am thinking 40% will be a touch too dark. Cost is generally $125 to $150.

I had 70% Stratos ceramic put on my windshield today and it does not affect HUD. Makes a big difference especially here in Los Angeles

I have 20% ceramic all the way around with 50% ceramic on the front windshield. I don't have a direct front on pic so, attached what pix I had. Hopefully, this helps you out in your decision making.

I have 3m crystalline front 50% side 40% all around.
50% front looks decent and do not block any view at night. I personally had llumar stratos as well in different vehicle could not tell the difference in quality.
Since, i do not take pictures of my daily or my car…my detailer took pictures after the full detail. You can see the darkness of tint (not too dark nor too light)

I've been thinking about 50 as well over 70

Alex. I'm sure you seen my other threading D'i.

Lovely color in seeing it, just not a color for me. Kinda is same like seeing AW/MW. Love the color when I see it on other peoples chassis, just not a color for me.

No issues at all with visibility. Almost don't notice it when driving at night. Helps tremendously during daytime driving by reducing sunlight and heat.

I've got 70 upfront and it doesn't change the look (I was worried about attracting too much attention without a front license plate) but does help a lot with heat rejection.

No issues with HUD.

Coming from Los Angeles - I have done clear UV tint on all my windshields for a very long time. A def must have. Haven't done ceramic...but the clear has been a heat and life saver in the 120 Palm Springs or Valley heat.

That's very high. Received a few quotes for $150/$200 range for ceramic 50%. I'd shop around if they are quoting $275!

schandok - Pricing varies regionally but $275 sounds about right. Around here, it's around $250-$275 extra for the windshield and then another $125'ish for each moonroof. So for the Panorama, it's another "250" as well
