My all time most painful screwup. Second degree on both arms and hands. I got VERY lucky and absolutely no scarring. This was July. Four days in burn unit, they flew me there. They say second degree is the best and worst to get. Best because of ability to heal, worst because all the nerve endings are exposed, as opposed to third degree where they are burnt to a crisp. Hearing them coming down the hall, room to room, for "redressing" of the wounds will never be forgotten. The screams just kept getting louder until you knew it was your turn. YAY.

Well. Fentanyl is something else.

I had a 2nd degree on side of my right hand, little finger as a child. I still remember how much it hurt.

As the late Richard Pryor said after his burns from freebasing cocaine, 'Fire is inspirational...they should use it in the Olympics!'

Ive been hung up in stirrups and drug by horses so I feel Sara's pain! Sara thats an impressive wreck. A friend in Montana decided to jump on a mule bareback, joking around. The mule was having no parts of it and bucked...HARD! I have seen a lot of people come off animals and never as high as this girl flew. Result, severely broken ankle on landing! Just goes to show, I dont care how "bombproof" you think your animal is, they all have bad days

I love horses and think that they have a special nobility that few living things share but I do not trust anything that big that has a mind of it's own with my life.

What about the little horses? My girl here is only 14.3 hands. I'm 5'4 so she's not very big at all. ( this is one that threw me 13 years ago lol)
