Monaco Blue and Mystic Blue side by side pict?
I'm about to order and thinking of getting Monaco Blue with Black interior. I had Orient Blue before and loved it.
Anybody have and side by side pics of Monaco and Mystic blue? |

No picture, Monaco is darker than Orient blue. In poor light, it's hard to tell apart from Saphire black. I test drove a Monaco with black/aluminum, nice combo.

It would be interesting to see the two colors side by side in the same light.

I'd like to see a side-by-side pic as well since it's harder to tell based on individual pictures. Monaco is supposed to be really dark though. As in you can only tell it's blue in good lighting.
Your best bet is probably at the dealership though. From all accounts, you need to see both blues in person to fully appreciate them anyway. |

If you're looking for a true blue that will stay blue in almost all types of conditions I would go with mystic. But if you're looking for a more luxorious color I'd stick with monaco. Monaco was too purple/black for my tastes and only really looked blue in bright sunshine. Mystic on the other hand is a very sporty type color and will always look blue. In bright sunshine it becomes this PERFECT shade of blue in my opinion. Check out my garage, i took some pics of it in bright sunshine. Off topic but one of my fav. blues is Audi's Ocean Blue pearl. Absolutely stunning, mystic blue comes close though.

That it is! It is a little harder to keep clean but it makes for a very elegant looking car. -Croaker

Monaco Blue rocks! Sexy like Black Saphire with just a tad more life to it, IMO.

I saw the two next to each other in overcast conditions the other day, sorry no pics. I had to read the window sticker to make sure that the Monaco was not sapph black. I have seen Monaco in all different lights and unless it is full daylight or under a blue tinted streetlight, it looks too close to black to me.
Pick Monaco for a lux look, Mystic for sport look. In fact, I don't think I'd consider Monaco, I'd probably just go for one of the blacks if I wanted something that dark. Better resale I would imagine. |

No. I would say that Mystic is, on average, a little darker than Topaz. But Mystic has more "range" -- it looks lighter under bright sunshine, but it looks definitely darker (with a hint of deep sea or dark ink color) in lower light situations.

Yeah I agree, mystic has more versatility. My mom used to have a topaz blue X5 and in bright sunshine mystic is def a little lighter but in darker conditions it can get darker, but no where near monaco's dark level. THe problem with monaco was that other than sunshine, I had a problem telling the color apart from black. |

The thing I noticed about monaco, and one of the reasons I chose it was that hint of blue in it when it's not sunny. It almost makes you do a double take. You think black at first look but you catch that hint of blue and it makes you look again. It makes it an intriguing color imo. When it's in direct sunlight you see the parts that reflect the sun that show the real blue color and the other parts only hint at the blue color.

I was in the market for graphite and my dealer asked me to come by just to see a car with all the features I asked. He happened to have the car in Monaco Blue with gray interior. It was a great looking car and looks notihing like the BMW book. So I bought the Monaco Blue and love it.
The Zaino products really make the blue come out and help to keep down swirls and dust. |
