We ordered Tuesday and My Garage says "Todays the day" and shows the VIN, is that possible? All I have read here made me think it would take much much longer. Maybe a sign the backlog is unjamming? Also, everything we could order is still showing.

That makes sense. Your dealer likely changed an existing order for their inventory to have your specs. Now that you are in Production Begins your assembly should be in about two weeks. You can ask your CA or give Genius a call to get the actual production date.

New to all this, first time ever ordering any vehicle. Not sure if it means anything but I think this was from scratch for us as CA and Sales Mgr seemed surprised we had a production number before we left the dealership.

Then that means they had an allocation they didn't know about. More than likely though, it was a sales tactic to make you feel good. Dealers should always know what allocations they have available. The have had the ones for July builds since early June.

Ahh so that's what that means. He said they only had 4 xdrive allocations left and 1 sdrive at time we ordered. That's why we went ahead and ordered it. Wife needs new car sooner than later. Plus, it looks like if you go 23MY the Driving Assistance Pro will not be available until 12/22.

I just hope Luxury seating isn't as that is all I feel like we may be missing out on. Also, wanted the hitch but it's really not critical. She had a Z3 and a 325i and loved them. I really don't know why we moved away from BMW. She has a Q5 that is 9 years old and has been a great car. She is excited and it was fun picking out every detail.

oops left that bit out, 40i xdrive. xdrive is very hard to find. I contacted dealers from TX to NC. They would usually only have one or two and not equipped like we wanted.

We won't know about the Luxury seating, it was available for MY22 until the supply issues. When they will clear up for that option is anyone's guess.
