You have an awesome build. Mine was for my wife and she did not want all that. I may have gone for it. Maybe next time. I'm not surprised about their comment about the 320 vs your X5 on the track. All the features and engineering in the world are not going to take away weight and lower the center of gravity. |

The $650 is worth it in the esthetic value alone.
I’ve painted my brakes or upgraded them in several cars in the past so it was a no brainer for me. Saves me a weekend I would have spent painting them. |

Very true about the weight! I've DHP on mine but there's no hiding 5200lbs.
That said, I had an X5 with the non sport brakes as a loaner a week ago. It was the V6 so less weight than mine too, but the brakes felt very weak compared to the M-Sport ones. Quote:

I just build 21 45e online and online config doesn't show RED M-Clipper. However it's listed in the ordering guide.
3M2 M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers $650 (SOP 08/20) 3M2 cannot be ordered with 2NH x 3M2 requires ordering ZMP x Can someone check in the online build? I will ask SA to add manually to the build. |

Assuming you're getting the m-sport package - bummer you can't order them without as I prefer the x-line look. I'm sure there's probably some financial reason why the US has few mix-n-match options but it's a real bummer as I prefer the m-sport steering wheel and would get the brakes but not if I also have to get the m-sport package.

Got the exterior blue, so having the blue M breaks was a no brainer for me as I liked them from an aesthetic point of view. First time buying a car (always inherited old car from my parents or even my in laws), first time driving a BMW, so no idea if they are better or not than the normal ones. It seems from the comments that they do. |

I hate to be in corrector mode here but you need to know that BMW does not make V6 engines for the G05. The 40i is an inline 6 engine. You could say its no big deal since they are both 6 cylinders, but the inline six is BMW's key differentiator in the market. |

I hate to be in corrector mode as well but Mercedes also uses a turbo inline six in the GLE450 and several other "450" models.

I just ordered my x5 with the M sport brakes and I chose them for two reasons: 1. They really add a bit of pop to the overall look. I spec'd a white with blue calipers. 2. I test drove one with and one without the M sport brakes and felt like the M brakes were more responsive and felt more solid than the stock setup.

Mineral White with the blue M Sport brakes is a sweet combo. Here's mine:

Not offended at all.
I learned from a response to my post that others, Mercedes, Jag, ??, have restarted their inline 6 programs. I've read that BMW toys with developing a V6, but so far I never read anything about BMW having ever sold a car with a V6 in the marketplace. |
