Nav insisted that I drive in ATL Peach Pass lane

A few days ago I drove Montgomery to near SC state line and when going through NE ATL, the nav insisted that I drive in the Peach Pass lane.

I have an OK Pikepass which only works in OK, KS, and TX.

Today I drove from Greenville, SC to Birmingham, AL. Again, the nav kept complaining every few miles that I should be in the Peach Pass lane.

Those message took over the HUD so I did not know how far to the next turn and what real lane I needed to use.

How does one disengage such a ‘feature’? Is there some explanation that I have missed?

Hi, Yes if you look in the options under the navigation settings you can select the specific route guidance details, such as if the vehicle should always prioritize using a electronic toll tag. You can switch it off. I would assume this would clear up the issue for you.

I will check this in the morning as I race ahead of the hurricane, but does this distinguish between where I want to use toll roads in OK, KS, and TX versus elsewhere? In metro OKC, it is convenient to have the nav know I have Pikepass rather than being prompted to stay and pay cash.

Nav Alternative Routes

I also live in Atlanta. I was coming back from St. Simons and the Nav told me to take an alternative route to save 20 minutes. I tried it, and it took me on a nearly 7 mile stretch of gravel and rocky backroads that ended in a gated closure.

I had to turn around and drive 7 miles back and onto the highway. Glad I had the offroad package. It was the first time I really got to use it, but I was definitely ticked!

I'm in South Florida, so very familiar with hurricane plans and preparation! I truly hope you are out of harms way and remain safe throughout the storm.

But unfortunately no, the system does not distinguish between your local toll tag versus areas you are simply driving through. You would have to toggle the setting as needed. But you could create a shortcut using one of the 8 preset buttons to make the change quickly.

Sorry, but I did not mean to imply that I was in immediate danger. I was simply close enough in AL that I got up early this morning and headed toward home which is west.

I did review the setting that I vaguely remember now. I only drive through ATL once a year so it will be difficult to remember to disengage that when coming and going through GA.
