Different Issues

Thanks! You are correct. So my app doesn't have the remote start function available.

Downloaded BMW Connected App on both Android and iphone. Remote start option only available on iPhone and worked fine. Hope they will add that feature for Android....

How can we get the heated seats or ventilated on with the remote start. The new 3 has it with idrive 7. Will an update allow us to opt for heated seats when it's freezing.
The ventilation does not come on? What does remote start do then? Just start the engine and cabin remains cool.
Nope. There is a setting to enable climate controls
Can you explain the climate options. Yes the engine starts and the temp settings will work as they are. I see no other climate controls to heat the steering wheel or the seats and armrests etc. it's 18 degrees so not sure if I can set a threshold or options for this?

For the seats and steering wheel no. The 5 series and 3 series has a temperature threshold for them. I don't see this as an option in the X5. On the new 3 series it looks like a bmw app that manages the threshold. Hopefully that something they will add in the X5. Is update.

I was looking through some videos of the new G30 and when they were showing drive 7 on it, there in APPS was the app that you can set the rules for seat/steeringwheel heating to come on below certain temps. I hope that sometime soon the BMW app store gets updated with this for the G05.

I can't find it now, I've watched so many but when I do, I'll update with the link

*I just noticed this is what Bigrobb2 saw also, I was so excited that I didn't see his post from yesterday.

I haven't got my G05 yet but yesterday I had an App update and I believe there is new functionality.

My car does not seem to have this option...? How can I have the ConnectedDrive app on my iPhone and be able to perform 20+ functions, basically everything but turning it on. I can even roll all the windows down by holding unlock button. 2019 X5 50i xDrive G05 N63M / N63TU.

Remote start is an option. If your car doesn't have that option then it won't work

All orders placed before the change to the pricing structure are eligible for the software bulletin that enables Remote Start. Even if Build / Delivery occur later.

I can’t get mine to work either way..! I can do just about anything else with the phone but just not start. I have no idea why it would be like that..?
Has to be enabled in settings

Have there been any updates to the remote start function that let you start the car remotely with specific climate settings? Remote start from the key fob works well for me and I use it everyday, but the climate settings start with whatever temp and fan speed was on when I turned off the car last. Thanks

Guy from bmw consierge just told me no bmw has remote start... I give up. But thanks guys.
Well they do. "BMW Concierge" is wrong. If you want instructions, watch one of the many videos or PM me and I'll walk you through it step by step.

Well... BMW REALLY needs to expose more control over what happens when you remote start. I was in a restaurant last night and it was about 65. Not hot, not cold. I hit the remote start to just get some air flowing before we loaded the boys. I opened the door about 6 mins later and it was like a furnace. I would like to set a "below xx temp turn on heat" and another "above xx temp turn on AC". In the middle would ventilate only since it'd be cool enough outside, but not too cold.

What did you leave your HVAC setting on when you parked?

It was on Auto, 69 degrees for both front zones and Auto 70 in the rear zones.

Yeah, that's not good at all. With your settings it should have been nice and comfortable when you got to it.

I'd have to try it again and if it's the same I'd bring it in.

Good luck. I hope it was just a fluke
