It is, just not for Headunit
Hm. Bimmercode iOS beta "3.6 (10771)" does have HU_MGU Expert Mode for G05. So it's coming. When you're on beta, it's very hard to tell what isn't in that beta, but apologies for the confusion.

Yep you need BDC.

Was a PITA discovering and testing that coding.

Worth it though. The kids love having the heated seats come on to their own setting at certain temps.

I do fear they may be spoilt for life! How would they have coped with wind up windows like we all did

Hm, that set of codes was part of a bigger set. I didn't think the rest was needed, but could definitely be wrong. Here is the full set — the BDC coding might be needed as well.

Steering wheel auto heat activation:

BDC_BODY3/7083 (on G05)
- LHZ_CCM_IKF: aktiv
- IKF_ENABLE: ikf_alle_sitze

HU_MGU/3E52 (on G05)
- AKT_AUTO_LENKRADHEIZUNG: aktiv

For seat heat/cool auto activation:

HU_MGU/3E52 (on G05)
- AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FOND: heizung_kuehlung (for rear seat heating and cooling)
- AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FRONT: heizung_kuehlungn (for front seat heating and cooling)

Use heizung for just heating

X54TH, ElectroGeek
I can't find

BDC_BODY3/7083 (on G05)

- IKF_ENABLE: ikf_alle_sitze

Good! For future reference, I don't think you need to browse manually by group if you know the FDL parameter name. There is a search function in Expert Mode, my screencap shows it , for an example.

Thanks for the original coding as always and the confirmation. I will rearrange my records to keep that straight in the future: BDC provides the functions, HU provides the UI control of the functions.

Hey can't set the temp on any of the seats. What have I done wrong?

Never mind. I got it. All is good. Make sure you code everything listed including the steering wheel.

Can the tailgate be coded so it can be closed with the button on the driver's door?

You just pull and hold the button up to close the tailgate on mine, from stock no coding? Key fob needs to be in the vehicle.

Maybe he wants it to close with single push instead of holding it down? The button on the tailgate does that, but not on keyfob and driverdoor.

OK, I'll give it a try. I tried to close the tailgate when picking up groceries a couple days ago by pushing or pulling the button on the driver's door. It didn't work but I didn't hold it up. I will try that today.

Yep, just tried it and it will close with the driver's button but only IF you hold the button up. Thanks.

For auto-lowering, someone has claimed they had it coded, but I don't believe they ever proved it or provided any information beyond the claim even after multiple requests to do so.
I could have sworn I saw someone post this same screen shot stating that they had the climate control rules for the passenger without coding via Bimmercode. I've been trying to find this same screen shot with the OP's comment that he had it in a previous iDrive release and that it disappeared in a subsequent release. Perhaps I just misread the post.

Yeah, I've checked that already. There is no "Passenger" Climate Control Rules. So, I'm guessing this has to be coded.

My X7 is stock. The dealer checked multiple X5/X7 vehicles in his lot with different software versions. None of them had "Passenger" Climate Control Rules. You can't configure settings for the passenger. Such as: "turn on seat heating if temp is below 52 degrees", for example.

No such option on any stock vehicles here in the US that I've seen. I would love to be proven wrong so I can show my dealer.

Hm, that set of codes was part of a bigger set. I didn't think the rest was needed, but could definitely be wrong. Here is the full set — the BDC coding might be needed as well.

Steering wheel auto heat activation:

BDC_BODY3/7083 (on G05)
- LHZ_CCM_IKF: aktiv
- IKF_ENABLE: ikf_alle_sitze

HU_MGU/3E52 (on G05)
- AKT_AUTO_LENKRADHEIZUNG: aktiv

For seat heat/cool auto activation:

HU_MGU/3E52 (on G05)
- AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FOND: heizung_kuehlung (for rear seat heating and cooling)
- AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FRONT: heizung_kuehlungn (for front seat heating and cooling)

Use heizung for just heating

If you don't want the UI for the steering wheel auto heat, I believe you can leave AKT_AUTO_LENKRADHEIZUNG out (don't code it), but do code the other 4 parameters.

That's usually the case. The obvious coding is described in HU_*, but when coded appears greyed out or cannot be selected in i-drive.

In that scenario there's usually a similar or corresponding code in BDC, but can also be additional codes in dependant ECU's such as SAS.

For example Auto lane change has codes in SAS, HU_MGU and BDC.

Bimmercode 2.21.0-6573 now released on Android.

Support for Power Tailgate Module has now been enabled, so those wanting to customise, the options are there - see pics.

I tried it when it was released the night before, however i'm not able to code these Tailgate Options. I spoke to support here is their response.

this is a very specific problem with the HKFM in newer cars. It requires the adapter to send large amounts of data and then OBDLink adapter is not able to send more than 512 Bytes. We are working on a solution, but at the moment the only option would be to use an ENET adapter instead

I'm using the OBDLink MX with my Android Phone. So far i'm able to code everything else. I do also have a ENET Cable from E-Sys coding via my Laptop, but i don't think it is supported on Android.

I'll give it some time before i look into getting an ENET based adapter as i don't want to double dip on OBD Adapters.

Sorry to hear. I use the OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth adapter, and had no issues coding both: i. Close tailgate with button in the driver door without long press; and ii. Close tailgate with remote control without long press.
