I'll be taking delivery of 2019 X5 5.0 MSport
next week with B&W audio. Loaded up w a list of almost $97K.
I’m regretting sticking w 20 inch rims (Due to my Chicago address).
Really wish I went for 22’s and a addl set of snows.

B&W sounds amazing! I've heard the HK and the quality is good, but I feel like the b&w just has much more clarity and tight hitting bass. But obviously you would only notice the difference if you compare side to side.

If you took the HK home, I'm certain you will love it. I'm just one of those over the top kinda guys and just want the best.. b&w rocks!

I'm slightly disappointed in the B&W, only because I listened to it back to back with the B&O audio in my F15 that I traded in (I listened to the same music on the way to the dealer that I loaded into the new G05). The B&O had more clarity, better bass, and sounded much better at higher volumes (although I wouldn't normally play either one as loud as I did testing them). But I'm sure my disappointment will fade over time.

Oh no, that does not sound good at all. Always thought HK had more clarity than B&O (HK has less bass). I like my B&O in F15, but thought B&W was better.... oh well....

True. And don't get me wrong; it doesn't sound bad. I just liked the B&O better.

I do really like that the B&W speakers light up in the same color as the rest of the ambient lighting, whereas the B&O was only white, and much more subdued.

I'm still happy I spent the money to get it.

Keep in mind that the B&W speakers may need sometime to break in. When I got my XC90 with B&W I was initially underwhelmed. I even told my salesman it sound different in the demo car. He told me not to play the sound too loud for a week or so and that the speakers had to break in. After about a week or so the speakers started sounding amazing. I would wait a little bit and see if you like it.

Mine are only showing up in white. Did you enable a setting for this?

Yup under interior lights settings. Can make them same as rest of ambient lights or white

I looked on my settings and all it gives me is the option for white lighting. If I shut it off, I get no lighting in the speakers. Do you have a different option?

Can someone confirm how many speakers the B&W system has? On BMWUSA.com site it says 16 speakers but I've read that it has 20 speakers. I ordered it but my X5 won't arrive for a couple weeks.

16, there's a B&W promotional video on YouTube for the G05 X5. Here's a screenshot showing the 16, it's hard to see but just mirror one side to the other and count.

Actually if you add up the speaker count on the left, it totals 20. Tap on the picture and it lists all of the speakers and how many of each there are. Thanks!

I ordered the system expecting 20 speakers as initially promoted.
IF the system has only 16 I will most definitely expect some sort of
compensation from BMW.

If you click on the picture that Android posted, it shows each type of speaker and the quantity of each. It adds up to 20 speakers.

was it advertised with 20 speakers? I don't recall how it's listed keep in mind some are not in obvious places. BMW says online it has 16 speakers so where's the 20 coming from?

It's definitely 20 speakers for the B&W System.

I saw one of the promotional videos which stated it had 20 speakers so I was confused when the online configurator stated 16 speakers. I think the 5 and 7 series have 16, but they don't have the speakers in the roof so I'm guessing that's where the additional speakers are in the X5.
