You must be doing a lot of 60 to zero runs... No way 8k miles is normal wear for brakes. I've owned several cars and have never had to replace brakes before 30k miles.

Mine had that happen within 3 days of taking delivery. Easy fix though. It's just a clip. Unless the clip completely broke off, you can just snap it back into place. Takes 2 seconds if you know where to click it in.

This is my first BMW out of 9 that breaks need replacing this early. I don't think I'm driving any different than before so I'm a little confused as well. Anyhow I purchased the ultimate care + for $700 which is a pretty decent price and now it's covered for 3 years or 36k.
