MY 21 Speedometer Showing Real Speed
Today I tested my speed reading in car against Waze. Unlike my previous BMWs my MY 21 reads almost dead on with the GPS speed. Wondering if this has anything to do with the ability to set your speed = to posted speed limits?
Anyone seeing this? |

Mine has a difference of about 4 km/h (2.5 mph) at 80 km/h (50 mph) with winter tyres. Real speed is lower than what speedometer reads.

Mine is about 5-7 kms slower than actual speed depending on speed. above 110 km/h it is about 7 km out.

German laws stipulate that the speedometer cannot show you going slower than reality, so, as a consequence, there's a built-in small buffer to indicate that you're always going faster than you are. Now, that could be part of a country specific coding and other places, it could be more accurate. This also assumes you have one of the approved wheels/tires on the thing.
As far as I can tell, the odometer is accurate, though. |
