11/2019.70 Update Remote Apple Carplay
I did a remote update on my 19 X5 and it was ok..but it had a few issues, like needing to be on wifi as well as Bluetooth. However after the update I turn the car off. The next day I drove the SUV and it began installing and finally it was complete. So it has installed correctly.
In doing this I have noticed that my iPhone 7 will disconnect and connect (not quickly) at least 5 - 7 times during a 45 minute drive. Basically making my iPhone for calls and using carplay unusable. Anyone else having these issues and did you get it resolved. Do you think it is an apple problem or bmw? I would say before the remote update I didn't notice my phone disconnecting and re-connecting at all. Thanks for any insight. |

I had similar issues after the 11/2019.70 update. CarPlay would randomly disconnect and reconnect during any drives longer than 15 minutes. I had to take it to the dealer for unrelated issues and had them update it to 03/2020. Haven't had the CarPlay issue since, but the wireless charger will now randomly stop charging...

Yes, Global. I believe 3/2020 is the latest version and only dealers can currently update vehicles to it. When I took it in, I told them about the CarPlay issue and they said they'd update the software to address it.
