The 07/2023.53 OTA has been rolling out in Canada and parts of Europe for the last week or so, has anyone that received it been updated from iDrive 8 to 8.5?

How do you know if your vehicle has been "upgraded"?

You would first have to download the file from your phone to the vehicle and then when all of the installation conditions were met it would prompt you to start the installation.

Going to All Apps -> System Settings -> Remote Software Upgrade will show you the version you are running.

I had got the update from dealer.
Dealer also told me The RSU update is expected to take place on 16.11.23.

I can say that my 50e when from 07/2023.40 to 07/2023.53. I had already done an update before with the dealer and had 8.5 already. This cas was built in May 2023 (so before the switch to 8.5 at the factory).

All in all, it’s my wife’s car and 8.5 is overrated. 2 screens are different and that’s it. Heck, my wife even preferes 8 to 8.5 look for the ventilation controls but I disagree.

The driver assistant plus (hand free) auto switch-on when hand off steering wheel for id8.5 is a handy feature though. It is the only major update I love.

Oh yes. I forgot to speak about the features. Visually I meant underrated, but the software update improves the system. The attention camera is less intrusive also
