I was trying to do the same but they require more time (something like 20 days) from production to PCD delivery and that didnt work with me at this time. So I decided to skip it altogether and took dealer delivery

Just picked my M50i two days ago. Went to dealership last week of December, order placed by dealer 1/30, entered paint booth 1/15 (I believe the factory was shut down for the first week +/- of Jan). Holiday 1/18, entered assembly line 1/19, delivered to dealer and picked up on 1/21. Unbelievably fast!
One reason I think this went so quickly was that the dealer is supposedly the largest volume BMW dealer in our state so they had available allocations to get the order started right away. Everything after that? Just impressive tech and engineering for a manufacturing process. And being on the East Coast surely helped with the short delivery time. We had to wait about 90 days for an Audi delivery from overseas so this was impressive. Had some time to watch the manufacturing process on YouTube while I waited. Would highly suggest that for anyone waiting for an order. Hope you all get yours as quickly! |

Any videos you'd recommend? I've seen a few of the production ones but they seem to jump all over the place/skip parts of the process. Would really like to see one end to end

I'm in the same boat. I tell myself that I'll check the status once in the morning. My resolve only lasts a couple of hours. I've been on production begins since 1/15. Does anyone know of any delays to 45e production?

Based on my own experience and reading other's experiences, your car should move into the next phase within the 5-10 days. It could take longer if you have individual items etc of course. If I understand "production begins" is where they are gathering all the items needed for your build.

It varies. Many, most I have seen, seem to go through that stage very quickly while others may take a week or so. Mine was 3 days I think.

Just took delivery of my wife's x6 last week. It was stuck in Quality check for three days. I called my rep on the third day and said it was on a carrier heading to the dealer. BMW site is so damn slow to update.
