No chance of that.
This is the future.

I am surprised that so many would simply dismiss it without even seeing how it works?? Give BMW a chance, and check it out before making a conclusion.
I would normally agree, but, with BMW's most recent track record, a lot of us are quickly losing hope.

That looks disgusting and not something I would buy.

I was going to point this out too - the car looks like an engineering mule. Engineers will often try stuff out in current / previous generation chassis with new bits so they can drive around under the radar. So it might not mean much at all.

Probably part of the development testing for the i4 / iX.

I was thinking along the same lines, look at the headlights, generic units and not off an current X6. Seems more likely they are testing something else under the skin of an X6.

Fully agree! Not a fan at all of these sticked on screens...for me these don't look like car dashboards anymore.

What's with the giant iPad screens (per the Merc S Class pic)...man, I hope that's not the future of interiors to come. Talk about distracting. I can't stand my neighbors Tesla/screen...IMO of course

Well that's sad. I'm not as bummed about the screen overload as I am about the loss of the gear shifter. Even in an auto, being able to shift gears when the circumstance calls for it adds so much pleasure and feedback to the driving experience. To add to that, a physical shifter can be a thing of beauty when done right. The Swarovski crystal shifter with the illumined "X" inside added to the aesthetic and luxury feel of the cabin.

Some lame button or switch to change gears does not offer the same tactile experience, feedback, or design.

I don’t know about the others, but with that glued ipad in there and no shifter it doesnt look like a car interior anymore...

Not to mention, it was a time when BMW was a leader in innovation, design, philosophy..
Today Mercedes gives the tone (a repugnant one too) and BMW is a copy-paste follower...
Even so, they are always late to the party coming with their “new” cars when others are done with that ideea...
I really hate the new dash. Ugly as sin.

Except mercedes is getting away from that now.

The new S and C close have the same cluster but now a huge tesla like screen horizontal in the middle.

BMW is a generation behind...again...

Doesn't look well integrated. They need to do a better job. Maybe the next major upgrade or future model year will improve on this.

Seems to me that the dual screen doesn't match the other parts of the interior. More like they are using the X6 to test out new infortainment system on big SUVs (X5, 6 and 7, cuz they share similar dashboards). Hope they're not just copy-pasting that screen from MB. Never get the point of a big dual-screen ipad sticking at the top of the whole dash.

I just hope they keep the giant red button and old school key on the dash. That’s fantastic. #retro
