Purchase 2019 or 2020

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Currently on a Mercedes and I’m looking to make the switch to the x5. Historically the first year where the car has been remodeled tends to have issues. Is that the case for the 2019s? Is it better for me to get the 2020s instead? I’m between the x5 and the GLE, but the 4 cyl on the GLE is a huge turn off

It’s true for every and all automobile manufacturers. No matter what the personal experience is off one person the chances of having an issue are higher during the first year.

There’s no reason not to get a 20’ at this point.

I have no issues with my 2019. I got it 3 months ago.

I did my first build when I got my BMW. I will never buy what is on the lot again.

I would get 2020 as you will take less of a hit down the road on value. Bigger discount on a ‘19 won’t cover it.

I think you should get MY2020 too. I don't think the discount you will get will cover the depreciation and the talking points you will to a potential purchsor when you sell it later.

you going to get the same car, it's matter how much discount you get for 2019, which can be pretty hefty.
If you save $12k on 2019 now, there is no way to get it back on resale value (when you'll be selling it in some years) if you go for 2020

I want to know as well. our 2019 has been nothing but great. ZERO issue and is a solid built vehicle! Was riding in previous BMWs and Acura, now that felt like a joke

If you're going to lease it and MY2019 incentives are big, then get a 2019. The interest rates will be better also.

3 months and 7k miles in and my 2019 X-line 40i has been solid. Zero issues, no squeaks, no rattles or otherwise. CarPlay connects every time. Bought it off the lot. Had to...wasn't fixing my F82 M4 AGAIN. Just wished it had ventilated seats and acoustic glass. Will drive it for 2 years, give it to my wife and on to the next. (Defender 110)

What % off of MSRP should one be looking for? With incentives or without. Thank you

I think in the US you will get a better % off MSRP than here in Canada. I'm sure I read US members getting 10% off msrp before incentives. You can get 7% off MSPRP in Canada plus additional factory incentives. Sign up for BMW Car Club and get addition 2% off MSRP.

for a 2019 I would go higher than 10% off. People are able to get 9-10% off on a custom order 2020 model. (This varies by region)

Thank you. How do i get additional 2% with BMW CCA? Do you mean $1000 check with new vehicle purchase/lease or this is addition to that. I've been a member for several years now. And what are the factory incentives for 2019 X5 lease BMW currently running.

Yes in the US you get a cheque. In Canada, we get 2% off MSRP at time of sale.

Quit complaining

Count your blessings for they'll be short lived...and if not, I'll buy your car

With being part of the Car Club, you would get an additional 2% off on top of whatever you negotiated
