Here is another option. These are more exhaust sleeves. Outside tips fit perfect, inside exhaust has a bend in it so I had to modify them a bit. Cut off 1/4 inch and cut about a 1" line up the bottom so they would push on the rest of the way. Been on for about a week and so far so good, they don't seem to be going anywhere.

Looks better when they don't stick out of the surround.

This is the best solution so far. Very nice.

The other solutions are plain ugly in my opinion.

This is what I bought. Ideally they would be 1"shorter for the inside tips. Like I mentioned, it takes some cutting and finagalling to get the inside tips to fit right. Nothing too terrible, probably spent 5 minutes to install the outside tips and 45 minutes monkeying with the inside tips. I used a miter saw with a metal cutting wheel to shorten it, and then a vertical cut to spread the end to make room for the bend in the pipe. Have a piece a wood and a hammer handy to give them a few whacks. You can't shorten these too much because the inside spring clamps are spot welded at the end.

Here is a full view. The outside tip fits great, the inside tip takes work to get the end of the exhaust to tuck nicely into the rolled edge of the finishers.

Added the black badging to complete the shadow line look. Might have to get some exhaust paint and black out that big muffler hanging down.....

Thanks for the recommendation. Ordered and installed mine in 3 mins. Best $40 I have spent on this ride. Especially with 1 day shipping.

This is a bad, bad take. Who doesn’t prefer quad pipes!?!?

This is the best look so far by a mile. Mind sharing how this solution has worked after 6 months, etc.? These don’t appear to stick out, and they add just enough flare to spruced up the stock look. The aftermarket quad tips look silly when they stick out, are uneven, etc. You have to finesse this look!

Did you also add in a poly exhaust hanger/bracket too? Is the black paint on the bumper exhaust inside area fading anywhere?

These have worked out great. They are a snug fit so don't move around at all. There is another thread on these here: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1885392. I haven't seen any negative comments on them so far. I can't attest to longevity but so far so good. The price really makes them disposable so if they start rusting in a couple of years they just pull off and will push on some new ones.

They only add about a 1/2" to the diameter of the exhaust so no changes to the hangers are required. Plenty of room left for movement.

I just bought the sleeves and they fit great, however, I've already torched the paint that was on them... Anyone painted their exhaust tips have a recommendation on Paint?

torched as in how?
Mine have been on for the past 2 months now and zero issues with them.

I'd also recommend reaching out to the seller (if purchased on Amazon) and explain to them the situation, they may replace them for your.

The OD of the exit of the tip can be NO MORE than 3.1 inches... MAX. Otherwise, the tips will contact one another.

The overall length.of my tips was 6 inches. Had I purchased 60mm/2.36" inlet tips, I could have squeezed them on a little further..... maybe 1 inch. The length.of the tips.can be NO MORE than 7 inches.
Bringing up an old thread - there is so much fantastic info here. I am planning to remove the exhaust surround and add 3-3.5 OD tips. I am wondering how does it matter if the tips touch? They are, after all, joined a bit down the exhaust pipe anyway? Outside of some knocking against each other (that can be controlled) is there any serious downside?
