Make sense.

Heard 45e is improved with new tech or whatever...who knows. It’s not Tesla. Before this X5 40e, I had 2014 X5 x35i. That was really awesome car, not a single error in 3 years.

If I remember correctly, very few, if any, incentives will stack with the fleet discount. Without that, PenFed/USAA will stack since they are considered military incentives.

Edit: Looking at the Corporate sales site the PenFed is not mentioned so that may stack as well as any APR/lease that is available. Loyalty will not stack.
Yup saw that. Only 1500 then for lease.

Plus UDE $1k

Signed up to UDE event end of this month. I think they listed $1k voucher. Have to check again. UDE.bmwusa.com

I am buying as I will get back $7.5k in federal and $4k in state tax rebate. Plus the Penfed incentive of $3250 is only for purchases.

Keep in mind that $1k requires $500 dealer contribution and most dealers will only give you the $500 from BMW if you are already getting a good dealer discount.

Yeah I negotiates net sale price based on my calculation, of course adding all the incentive available. That net sale price should translate to %age off msrp.

If they agrees to that net sale price , good for me as I don’t care how they use the incentive available to them as a BMW center.

I have also found this in terms and conditions:

"BMW Corporate Sales Program incentive cannot be used in conjunction with Car Club of America (CCA), College Graduate Program, Group Partner & Family Program, European Delivery Program, Diplomatic and Embassy Program, Domestic Military Sales Program, Limousine & Hotel Shuttle Program, and VIP Purchase Program."

Domestic Military Sales Program probably means USAA/PenFed...

Just make sure if you post your deal you do not quote it like that. On the forum % off from MSRP is stated before any incentives.

It just takes some grinding, I called/emailed pretty much every dealer in the NE. Wound up at 10% a couple NJ dealers, 11% at one but their doc fee is high. Dealer in MA says they will match or beat the 11%. Waiting on them before I sign in NJ.

This is all for a 2021 40i build. I'll post here after I sign with names.
How do the MA or NJ dealers handle NY sales tax? Do they collect it or do you have to pay it at the NY DMV when you register the car?

I've done plenty of out of state transactions, in almost all cases I've paid NYS tax to the dealer, I think once I had to go to DMV to pay but that was a private sale.

Almost all(or maybe all) new car dealers use a service to process out of state reg/tax so you don't have to. Your plates and reg show up in the mail, you leave with a temp from the dealers state.

I'm in MN currently working with 2 dealers (one local and one in WI) to order an X5 I have been dreaming about for the past year. This forum has been a godsend and I have done my homework..so I feel good about where I am at in the deal...but have one concern.

The local dealer is willing to match discount before incentives (10%) but wants to charge a higher MF for a 15k lease. I'm hoping they come down to the base MF, but if not I will have no problem going with the WI dealer who is offering the base MF.

That said, my only worry is that I won't be able to get good service at the local dealer(s) if I buy it somewhere else. Is this something I should worry about or factor into where I buy it? Do BMW service departments give you preferential treatment if you also purchased the car there?

Any help or experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would 'run the numbers' to see the impact of the higher MF vs the discount to MSRP. It's just a matter of pulling different levers. As long as you are understand how the deal is structured and are comfortable with it, you should be fine. Personally, I hate having multiple variables in play so I just try to focus on the discount to MSRP, incentives, and leave the MF at the buy rate.

Anyway, the one advantage to having your car serviced where you bought it is the availability of service loaners. My dealership provides them if you bought/leased your car there. This is a dealership level policy, so you'll need to know if this impacts you.

Good luck!

PS: The only thing that changes given the lease mileage allowance (10k/12k/15k) is the residual value. You post makes it seem like they want to charge a higher MF for a 15k lease and that is BS. I can understand them offering you a higher discount offset by an increase in MF.

They already have a recall on the 45e

Any reason why you are going with 40i?

I have two leases to replace in Dec. My current 2018 40e is POS. Drive train error every day. Now two months left and throw this POS. Debating should I go with new 45e or 40i?

Interested to hear your POV.
Since you already lived with electrical issues in the 40e just get the regular 40i .I was between both models and I figured the 40i is bulletproof and I didn’t want the headache. If it was a 2022 and it was sorted out then maybe I would.
The recall says an internal inspection revealed that the welding beads on the high-voltage storage tank were not completely removed during production.
The problem only occurs when the weld bead is improperly shaped and improperly positioned, but it cannot be ruled out. Since the pearl can lead to a short circuit in the high-voltage battery, in the most unfortunate case, BMW prefers to play it safe and has decided to recall the cars.

Locked my (wifes) 40i build today. 11% pre-incentive. Already scheduled for production.

Hoping October incentives get better, but currently locked $2500 APR credit and $500 USAA.

Who is offering the $2500 APR credit? Is BMWFS honoring this or is it dealer based?

Sound like a finance deal, is that 11% with APR and USAA credits + incentive? Or on top of the discount?

My lease is expiring in a couple months. I've been shopping the m50i and x5m comp.

The finance and loyalty rebate on the m50i. Will that apply to x5mc as well?

The wife has an x6 m50i so was leaning towards the x5mc just so it doesn't feel like the same car.

At the same time is the extra price tag worth it for the x5mc over the m50i...

Its all very clearly laid out on bmwusa.com under lease and finance offers. Its regional so you will see your regions programs.

Are you leasing again? If so there are very few credits, $500 on a '21 M50 only. Nothing on M's. The finance credit is for finance, not lease...

If you've got an F80, a lambo, and a secure ego I can't see how it would be.

As I've gotten older I just don't get the track-worthy SUV thing - it just ain't the right tool for the job.
