Just hope you never need any paint touch up or panels to be sprayed. Any of the metallic white tri coat paints are tough to match properly. Alpine white is much easier to match other panels.

Oddly enough I parked with a X5 at Disney resort last year. This year I am taking the new BMW. The Summit was our family car but now the new 50i M-Sport is MY car that the family rides in.

Here are a few pics in different light of my Summit. Notice how it accents the styling lines. I believe this is why BMW used Mineral White on their show X5's.

At Disney.

long road trip to beach

My wife has the same jeep. Im assuming the diamond stitching? It's as nice as it gets for a Jeep (besides power).

I got your point, MW touch up paint can not keep more than 3 month once you open it as it will become yellish and luckily my X6 has never been re-spray

Yes. In the Jeep world the Summit with Signature leather is as opulent as you can get. Everything is leather from top to the lower door panels. Definitely the best domestic car interior in my opinion.

You'll also be replacing a $10,000 engine and have all kinds of problems based on Jeep's track record. Had a friend replace an engine, etc. Check Consumer Reports. Jeep is one of the most trouble prone vehicles on the road.

I have always owned alpine white, in fact since it was dark when I bought this X5 I thought I was getting alpine white. (Spent too much time focused on the new tech and the drive I guess. Or maybe I just wanted to get rid of the Range Rover that badly... lol). Got it home and the next day got a very good surprise when it was so good looking in the sun. A happy mistake I guess, but man does MW look good on the M-Sport.

To bad Jeep only offers that nice interior in white. While it looks nice in white, it has to be a nightmare to keep it looking like new. No thanks.

No issues at all with upkeep and have taken multiple family roadtrips with kids (9ry and 11yr). Disney World 2200 miles, multiple beach trips, etc...
I just traded the Summit in for my 50i M-Sport with Merino Ivory white. White interior is so crisp and fresh looking in any light especially with a pano roof. BMW ivory Merino is stunning with the new ambient lighting. The level of detail with the lower tunnel leather stitched panels in ivory white, lower front seats in white and matching seatbelts. BMW hit it out of the park with this design.
The interior after 2 years in the Summit looked brand new still. I suspect the BMW Merino interior will hold up even better.

Thanks. I often wondered how the white interior held on on the Summit. Since I only like dark interiors, I still would only get black. I know, it looks boring, but I like it. Nice to have the choice.

Had a White interior car car that got stolen. Was a nice car.
Few years ago
Cops found it, no damage.
Cops dusted the whole interior for fingerprints.
Never, never got the thing clean. Thst dust survives all cleaning.

Wow, that is an extremely cool looking interior. Is that a dark blue leather with the white.

Well OK then, there you have it. Jeep owners will all be replacing their engine because your friend did.

Mineral white, it has more depth and looks more expensive.

How is BMW's mineral white in regards to:

1) Incandescent lights at night?
2) age

I know with other manufacturer's metallic whites (Lexus, Infinity, Audi, etc) they look great in the natural sunlight but appear like a piss-colored yellow at night under incandescent lights. Plus, some manufacturers metallic whites look great for the first several years of ownership, but they gradually turn into a permanent piss colored yellow, that is noticeable both during the day and at night.

alpine is crispy clean while mineral has more depth to make up for not being nearly as bright.

source: have and do own both AW and MW

+1 - I've had both and either one looks good - You can't go wrong with either. My 40i is MW. I talked to our local BMW certified body shop and they said it is a little more work to repair, but they have not had any issues matching the color. With any panel repair, there is no touch up, the entire panel must be painted.

I would choose Mineral White. MW is the brighter white. Alpine white is white with yellow mixed in. It is not really as white as you may think it is....if they are parked next to each other, MW looks like a crisp bright white and AW looks yellowish.

It is not necessarily a bad thing, I prefer AW on the M cars because it is one of the classic BMW colors, but on the G05, a bright white with some metallic suits it better IMO.

I never liked MW on F80 M3s. That car should always be AW and MW should not even be an option.

I currently have Mineral White. It was a coin toss between it and Alpine. Both look great. You just can't go wrong with a white vehicle.
