2019 Base Front Brakes

Does anyone know if there are any special requirements to replace the front brake pads (non-M)? i.e. Any special procedures before compressing the piston? TIA

So I ended up ordering the Powerstop Z23 Carbon fiber ceramic (base) front brake pads and installed them today. Pretty much like replacing any other brake pads. Remove caliper/compress pistons & install new pads. I spent more time polishing the rotor hub and cleaning the calipers than actually swapping the pads. After install I did set the parking brake before touching the brake pedal and starting the car. Brakes feel good, much less grabby than the stock pads.... smoother stopping. FYI car had just a little over 27k miles..mostly city driving.

How do you take off the metal brackets holding the pads in the calipers?

Those are just anti rattle springs. Take a picture first because even though they pop off with some needle nose pliers (safety glasses) they are confusing to get back on sometimes since they go back under spring tension.
