X5 Hot Spot removal

Just took delivery of a ‘22 X5 40i. When attempting to start a 3rd party internet account for the in in-vehicle WiFi system, I discovered there was no vehicle phone number assigned. Dealer is saying that “hot spot” capability has just been removed from the X5. “Low level data” does operate on the vehicle WiFi system to enable Car Play. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

wireless hotspot was a casualty of the chip shortage, along with wireless charging, touch screens, sound upgrades, and trailer hitches.

I have a 2022 M50i, 10/21 build. I am missing wireless charging and wifi hotspot (my hotspot behaves the exact same way as you've described...low data mode for Carplay)
