Newbie with X5M50i Ordered Today

Well, been lurking and watching countless YouTube for a few months now thinking I MIGHT take the plunge over the summer. But a drive around town with my dog ended up sitting at the table choosing my options after learning they were giving me $2k MORE than what I paid for my 21 Silverado Trailboss new last year.
I’ve had trucks for over 25 years now until I went for a new Chevy Blazer RS in 2020 of which I was vastly underwhelmed. So going to give the SUV route another try with this one. Really disappointing in not being able to order hitch but not a deal breaker

Black Saphire, BLACK Merino, Shadowline, Black 22s with Red Calipers, carbon fiber, heated, premium, parking assist.

I took delivery of my X5 M50i in May... which just so happens to be Black Sapphire, Black Extended Merino leather, Carbon fiber trim, & 22 inch black wheels w/ red calipers

You will enjoy the absolute heck out of your X5. Hopefully you added the Dynamic Handling Package, it is a *HIGHLY* recommended option. Makes the giant SUV feel like a sports car.

Congratulations, can’t go wrong with those options.
Strange that on an X6 you can get a hitch but on X5 you can’t.

Congrats and your senses were right about the Blazer. What an embarrassing atrocity of a vehicle.

Yep. Looks kinda cool I guess or maybe just the novelty for me and the ingrained rhetoric of “The Camaro of SUVs” that got me as a bit of a post midlifer wanting some fun yet maintain responsibility. Lol!

But wow, very uncomfortable seating, ride quality, and all with the performance of a Chevy Bolt at a much higher price point!

Won’t even touch the defamation in nomenclature they did to the classic Blazer. Oh well, never too old to learn lessons!

Congrats!

I am going in tomorrow to finalize my order as well. They are giving me in trade almost exactly what I paid for my Tesla a year ago. Crazy.

Just curious when they said yours would be delivered? My dealer says they have allocation and it would be February.

Same here. Bought a new 2019 F150 Limited right before covid for $55k (MSRP was $75k) and 20 months and 16k miles later I traded it in for $61k for an X5 after owning only pickups before. Welcome!

Yeah mine is a January build and the tow was not offered. Is it possible to this could still change and become an option for me during the process??

January for me. Yeah used market is insane. I’m still nervous about making this jump up in price, but getting paid $2k to drive my truck for a year certainly helps temper that!

If calbears is saying no, then I guess BMW isn't able to make it happen that soon.

What I heard was "trying" and not a definite.

I was looking at F-150's but no way in hell am I paying MSRP for any of them, which is what they're asking for. In 2-3 years, people who buy them new at MSRP will be underwater with their payments and subsequent value.
The only value proposition is a Raptor at MSRP.
