It wasn't until a broker I knew who had a relationship with the GM stepped in and 'made a call'. The next day, I got an email saying that they would honor the 8% deal given our long term relationship. That's it; 1% (begrudgingly) was all the relationship was worth - if that.

Fast forward a year and look what has happened: those 8-10% deals are LONG gone. I can't even imagine what the conversation with my CA would have looked like this October if ordering a new X5. I'm guessing I might be lucky to get the 1% off MSRP vs 0%! Will be interesting to see what happens in 2 years when my lease is up. Could be buying the thing off lease!

So much for the so call "relationship with your AD". My response: buying the car in my current lease that is coming to an end, depriving them of making a profit in my return car lease; and turning around and selling that car a few days later, for an $8 to $12,000 profit (for me). That profit in turn, will make my 8-10% discount on the new incoming ordered car.
Other proofs about what was already said... dealers are in the business to make money. The rest is just nothing and does not matter for them.

I contacted more than 50 dealerships and the best I could get is $3k off MSRP. Lots of dealerships were charging MSRP, some other ones were looking for $5k or even $10k over. I will keep on looking though, I need to contact another 50 dealerships or even more to see if I can get more.

I got $1750 off MSRP, but the incentives were from BMW themselves. 1,000 off for the drive to end hunger promo, and 750 for being a current BMW owner.

I live in the SF Bay Area where people have money to burn and dealers are mainly selling above MSRP.

As an FYI, Victor @ Peter Pan gave me -3.5% off MSRP & -$3250 PenFed in Sept just in case anyone is shopping around the Bay Area.

He was also completely awesome to work with - easily my best dealer experience in 10+ years.

Pfff... unless something happens and a deal comes out of the blue then I won't have an X5M in the near future.

I wonder if those deals are still available now in November. I did check Peter Pan, but they did not have any X5Ms in stock.

Well, yeah, I don't think any dealer will have any in stock - probably gotta wait for an allocation & then have them order one which is what I did ...

For some reason Stevens Creek, Mt View, and SF all had x5ms in stock. The one at SF matched the config I would have ordered perfectly, so I pulled the trigger there. I do understand that these are highly unusual cars to keep on stock and most are probably canceled orders.

I managed to find a dealer willing to do 6% off MSRP. Now I need to wait until tomorrow to see his numbers for a lease to see what he will markup.

After emailing about 80 dealers from the whole US and leaving just a few states out of my search, finally it seems that someone took the bait. But, again, I need to wait to see if what he gives me with one hand won't take back with the other one.

Now how will I trade in my current car if the dealer is out of my state? I can do PCD, but how do I trade my car in?

The so called 6% became 3.94% in reality. The dealership was marking up the MF for the lease from 0.00111 to 0.00151. That was the best discount I was able to get, in rest only a maximum of 2-3% without getting into details to see if they were marking up the MF or not. So, I guess I am done with my hunting for an X5M Competition for this year.

In the end I think I will just go to Porsche and order a Cayenne GTS and do a European Delivery rather than paying MSRP for a BMW. I am still debating what I should do but no way I will pay MSRP for a BMW that is manufactured daily and not a limited edition one.

You are gonna run into the same game with them…..and the Cayenne GTS isn't a limited edition either, LMFAO.

Probably. But if I will pay MSRP then it will be for a Porsche if I have to chose between BMW and Porsche.

That is what I am searching on right now and I found a dealer willing to do MSRP but... the European Delivery is paused at the moment, unfortunately.

Does anyone have a good dealer to work with in Houston or around or maybe in the whole US? Any inputs are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I live in Dallas but I ordered my X5MC from Momentum BMW in Houston through a referral. All of the dealers I checked with in Dallas were doing it at MSRP but they did not have any allocations until at earliest March (I inquired in early January).

Momentum BMW was able to change an existing production allocation and the car was at the dealer in exactly 1 month from when I finalized my specs. They still offered at MSRP but threw in free tint, which isn't a lot but saves me the trouble of getting it done myself.

To me, speed of getting the car I wanted was more important than getting a discount, since I would expect any discount to be minimal anyways right now.

I ordered my truck from Tulley BMW in New Hampshire. Paid Sticker, and they overpaid for my trade ( Jeep Trackhawk ) Gave me 85k for a truck I paid 72K for 3 years ago... so that must be my BMW discount.

I got aa production number for my X5MC and its slated to be built the 13th week of the year? so late March, and will be out 1st week or so in April.

You need to use a broker and you will get under MSRP. If you are looking for the 10% off days, it's not happening. You will find maybe 2 percent if you are lucky through a broker.

I would bet you are going to be waiting a bit for the GTS, too.

I like the Cayennes but bottom line the GTS is slower and the tech just isn't on par with BMW.....not to mention if you option the GTS close to the X5M, you will pay more for the GTS.

Hmmm... I could have ordered something in December but I did not want to budge. I am not in a rush, as I said, I work too much to give my money just like that to a stealership.

Not bad, I would have just shopped around to get also a discount on the X5MC to be honest with you.

I don't know when were Porsche dealers giving a 10% off MSRP on a Cayenne because I would have surely gotten one back then.

And honestly, yes, a Cayenne GTS how I configured it would cost around $136k. You are right, the X5MC would beat the hell out of a Cayenne GTS but I am not looking at performance here, I am just looking at the Porsche brand. But talking about technology, what exactly from Porsche is not on par with BMW?

But having a Cayenne GTS configured as I want it and also doing a European Delivery sounds good enough for me to say bye bye to BMW and jump to Porsche if I am supposed to pay MSRP on both of them. I have told this to n BMW dealerships, "I won't pay MSRP for a non limited manufactured BMW".

Looking to purchase my first BWM (X5m) and have not been able to find anything better than MSRP. Some of the dealers are even tacking on thousands worth of "extras".

OP, I'm in Houston as well so do you have any dealer recommendation?

I wish I would have any. I got something a while back from BMW West but I doubt they would still honor it and even if they did I would not budge.
