Is anyone out there getting discounts during this crazy time?

I'm at a crossroads. I need a more comfortable ride for some of the long drives to Phoenix I do, along with the occasional drive to southern california, and have built out both a 40i x drive and a M50i.
And my TRD pro runner should fetch me a decent price right about now.

I was strongly considering a 45e, but I cannot put in a level 2 charger in the garage of the house I'm renting, so the use case for me just doesn't make sense, living in a rural area with not many charging stations.
My next vehicle in 3-4 years will definitely be a PHEV.

For now, I'm cross shopping a Ford explorer ST or King ranch with the X5 due to comfort/power in the explorer, but here again, I'm concerned about overpaying in this market. A year ago, year end discounts of $8-10k could easily be had, and not it's a case of "go pound sand" by most dealers.
Those who are charging well above sticker will rue this day IMO, but that's a topic for another day.
I'm probably better off with a short term lease to minimize overspending/depreciation hit in this current market, but I'm open to either a lease or purchase.

So...........does anyone know of any dealers out there who will discount either a 40i xdrive or M50i?

Got it, thank you!

Was it custom build or off the lot? Sorry for the 20 questions, am going through the purchase process myself right now and debating waiting for more clarity or pulling trigger and then refusing if final build isn't satisfactory.

Are you a member of Pentagon federal credit union?
If so you can get a $3250 rebate plus a reasonable dealer discount if you call around.

No worries. It was a custom build and I ordered in October. Car is currently at the awaiting carrier stage.

Yes, waiting on my code to generate end of Dec!

Debating whether to wait a bit for smoke to clear on touchscreen and B&W issues and then put in an order in Jan or place order now for end of Jan delivery and pray.

If you are legitimately Military, just go through the id.me process and get your code immediately.

Just went through the process of trying to find a dealership that would take a custom order at or less than MSRP. Every dealer I emailed basically laughed at me when I asked for less than MSRP and some even tried to say that the $5-10k markup was worth it because "of how great of a dealership we are" -.-. Whenever I went in to test drive the 45e they would be willing to negotiate if I were willing to buy the one I test drove instead of doing a custom order. They are trying to move their inventory especially since it's the end of the month.

FWIW, my dealer gave me a discount but told me that anyone calling from outside the area gets MSRP.

It's more likely your local dealer will give you a MSRP discount bc they factor in potential servicing value of the relationship. That's how I got my 6%.

Last time I called SoCal dealers, everyone was at or above MSRP and there's a line out the door...so not surprised. They didn't even want to entertain the best discount I had that the time, didn't even want to try to compete.
