Hi All,

New to this wonderful forum and have been trying to keep an eye on this ever growing concerns raised by many on the forum with changes in specs pre-delivery for many.

I have placed an order for a X5 XDrive 45e with M Sport Pack, Comfort Pack, Technology Plus Pack, Panoramic roof end of October 21. Was informed in first week of November order was accepted and delivery hopefully week commencing 25th of April 22!

Curious to know if anyone else on the forums has also placed an order for BMW X5 recently in the UK and what their experience has been with delivery times.

Anyone from UK who has had delivery recently and not having touchscreen at all, deletion of HK speakers as well as reverse parking button Deletion from the screen?

Would love to know any such UK experiences.

Update: received an email from my Dealership today (Park Lane, London) -

Keeping you updated on the progress of your new car; I'm delighted to say that the order has been accepted by the factory and Head Office; your estimated production date is week 10 in month March and the estimated delivery date is week 17 in month April 2022 to UK Storage.

And the wait continues. 😂

I ordered begining of October but got lucky with a build slot so expecting delivery early Feb.

Interested in the pics you've posted, are they from a different configurator to the UK one?

Lucky you! Did you order through Park Lane? (In that case I better keep my fingers crossed)

I ordered a very similar spec to yours except for the panoramic roof.

Orders 5th october, deliver date 9th March

Mine has the same thief proofing code, I assume its just the standard anti theft alarm.

Mine doesnt have outer skin protection though.

Option S9AAA EXTERNAL SKIN PROTECTION OUTER SKIN PROTECTION is a film (usually white) covering the horizontal surfaces of the paint during shipping to prevent paint staining during shipping. It is removed by the dealer upon arrival at the dealership during prep.

So it gets removed at the dealer anyway.

Also just to let you know mine came with the touchscreen and wireless charger. No deletions.

Would you mind sharing your experience when when it was manufactured to shipping? How long did that take?

According to the SA mine is arriving 1st/2nd week of April. But according to online BMW genius last week of March. Tracking with the genius the code is 165.

There is a ship travelling from Charleston to Bremerhaven later today. Hoping mine is on there somewhere. 🤞

Ordered 5th october with a delivery week of 3rd week in March so the car is actually early!

My biggest issue was choosing Tanzanite Blue as I was later told by the dealer that colour adds 6 weeks to the production and if I had selected any other colour then it would have been delivery beginning of February

By then it was too late to change as if I changed colour I would have to get a new slot and it wouldnt have come any quicker than mid March anyway,


No idea when it left the factory but got an update from the dealer which had it in the UK port on 16th february. Unfortunately with customs clearance and the rush of new cars for delivery to dealers, it didnt get delivered to the dealer until this morning so it has spent over 2 weeks stuck in the UK.

48 hour turn around at the dealers for delivery so cant complain at that.

Congratulations once again! That does look amazing. I am sure once the sun is out the colour will show well!

Any plans on getting some ceramic protection coating?

On a serious note, my car, at various stages, lost:

1) Wireless Charging
2) Air Suspension
3) Tow Bar (Tow hitch for US people)

I told them air and towing were deal breakers. I also went for Bowers & Wilkins sound when HK wasn't available at order.

Car was built Dec 22nd, shipped from Spartanburg Jan 4th, and found its way to Bremerhaven awaiting a RAM audio module from Jan 24th through to March 9th.

It's now apparently finding its way from Bremerhaven to Southampton, and then my dealership, with NO deletions

Let's see when I get it. They are promising week commencing 20th March, but it's not showing as on the ship that left 15th so that's not going to happen.

Contacted my SA and was advised I should be expecting mine first week of April. As it's en-route to Bremerhaven.
Fortunately no recalls on mine. I do have the iTouch - controller's "touch" functionality missing.

Just received an update from BMW online genius - Order code now 193 - Arrived at Port of Exit - which I believe means car is at Bremerhaven.

Hopefully another couple of weeks now.

Does anyone know if the same Ship (in my case ARC Integrity) transports it to Southampton or does it get transferred to another ship?
