Yes, I took delivery of my F85 in April 2015, but I don't remember when the F85 ordering guides were available and when I ordered it. I can check later today and get back to you.

I was told that ordering will start in December with April 2020 deliveries.
Ordering guide was out Dec 2014:

overall like it alot.... the one thing nagging me is the move toward staggered front and rear wheel sizes (21in front/22in rear). I think i prefer the symmetry of having the same diameter wheel front and back.

I know the new M3 is going this direction also. Personally would prefer the option to have them the same

It's strange how the Konfigurator defaults to Urban Green paint yet it's not available to re-select if you look at the car(s) in a different serial paint.

I can't really see the problem here - Never understood why it always has to be bigger = better.

Not all people love the massive cars - rather small and like a rocket!

Since the press release BMW has removed the engine bay bracing images from their press material. One image of said item remains on a slew of european BMW sites as a part of a highlight reel.

I guess they forgot the bracing was supposed to be coated black? Really enjoyed the raw look of the one in the original presskit.

See attached.

So X3M comp vs M40i, his will be similar for new M3 vs M340i

X3M:
cost difference $15,000 (similar options, that are available on M40i)
30% more HP (503 vs 382)
21% more torque (442 vs 365)

Now if you compare the X5M comp to M50i:
cost difference will be about $25,000 (similar options)
18% more HP (617 vs 523)
0% more torque

not comparing X3M to X5M here, just saying for $25K doesn't feel like you are getting a whole lot extra here (compared to $15K more what the X3M gets you). And I know its more than just power, but the X3M also upgrades a lot of that (including seats and leather quality you can't get in M40i), the X5 M50i does let you get upgraded leather, leather dash, a lot of M performance options as well and still $25K less expensive.

There is if you take them from the M5 which fit.

Just checked out the new X5M stuff. I have an X3 M40i and a X3M-Comp. Absolutely love them! I just am not the one who'd break that price barrier (100k) on an SAV, UV or whatever ya want to call it. Crossing that line for me means two seats and purpose built to track with livability coming second. I am a stay at home dad with two girls so I need the space but want to "live a little" too. The M40i covers that. My M is a luxury that does it better, and pretty damn good better! I am not sure the X5 version with it's added weight, price, etc. would give anything more. Plus, I just don't like the new instrument cluster! Just can't get on board with it. I am starting to see some track times for the X3M breaking the 4sec 0-60. So not sure that is a factor either. And I seldom need to slam it off the line to leave everyone just a spec in my rear view mirror anyway. With the 500hp 6, I am eating noticeably more fuel than my M40i. Noticeably! 1 tank, or $50 more per week. Just think of 4.4 625 V8 will do!! Anyway, yes, it's totally awesome. But only for those with lots of disposable cash. The X3M will give ya all the senses and "save" ya 30k. A rear tire on the X3M is also $360 plus fees and installation... plus, not sure if it's just me, but the pictures of the front brakes are not as impressive as on the X3m. I love my calipers! They are gigantic! Yeah, probably heavier than snot, but look awesome 😂!

Just my opinion on ceramic brakes... Remember, when they need replacing, it's another 8-10,000 bucks! Just had a buddy who needed a new set. He drives hard, but right, as an experienced driver. "Unless you use them the way they were intended, not worth the money". They squeal louder than the "normal" M brakes if just used in a causal setting. Plus takes'm more to heat up to good temps...

Unless you use a car on a track, standard brakes are the better option.

And who drives X5/6 on a track?

CCBs are worth it on a sporty car that isn't being tracked since they usually last 100k miles or so. But on a car this big and heavy, CCBs won't last anywhere near that long making them a HORRIBLE decision unless you shit money.

Indeed. But a cheaper way is to just get the "service package" that includes the brakes. You are totally right about it being on a "sporty car"! A nice canyon drive or long way home can be exhilarating with them! Most people though have no idea how to properly use them and go into shock when they are told how much a replacement costs or how many times they have their car in the shop because of noise or... On an M3/4CS, yep! Would totally do it! 911, yep! X-anything... nope! Even the M5 is a tight spot! My service guy who has been with BMW for 40yrs and was part of their racing program advises people against them unless they will "actually" use them. They have more complaints about them than anything else on newer cars, only because people aren't actually using them.
