Hi everyone - what are people paying for insurance for the 2024 x5m comp?

For those in Canada which company are you insuring with - Scotia Insurance declined insuring this as they said its considered Luxury and you need a special company to insure it.???

Belair underwrites for Scotia. It could be Scotia not willing to insure your x5m. I'd suggest getting a quote directly on Belair direct's website. Johnson's and Sonnet also have competitive rates.

And sonnet online quote says doesn't have insurance for me at this time - keep in mind I have a clean record for and have had insurance for 25 years.

Check with your sales guy/dealership. They get to see insurance slips all the time.

Allstate Canada didn’t mind insuring it. I pay $130-140/month iirc

for the M ? I was quoted with my group rate 300/month wtfffffff
(zero accidents tickets etc EVER). I will say my insurance in 2020 if that's when you received it originally was half the price of what im quoted today for the same cars. For example 1800 per year for a Volvo xc90 and today they quote 6000 per year and have zero explanation why it's so high.

So just got off phone with Allstate and they quoted 7600 lol remember an absolute clean driving record since I started 25yrs ago

Unfortunately, postal codes are also a big factor in determining our premiums, aside from clean record. Perhaps your postal code is driving up the rate. These are some crazy rates you're being quoted.

so he told me if I were to just put fire and theft it is 4k cuz of the car thefts that are going on with BMW etc what bs

That doesn’t make any sense - I haven’t heard of a lot of BMWs being stolen. I mean, I know it’s happening but they’re primarily targeting pickup trucks, Toyotas and Lexus, not to mention Kia/Hyundai.

I had my car since new / 2021.. but it just got written off. So we’ll see when I replace it! Those rates are insane..

exactly it was Lexus not BMW but now they're all scared. Complete garbage. I got a better quote with broker link - 3200 all in
