I contacted PenFed customer support with some questions about the discount and they didn't even know this existed. They replied they give no money off or incentive for buying a BMW. When I gave them the link they were quite surprised.

If your dealer is refusing, I'm sure another dealer will accept your business. You can ask upfront if they know how to handle the PenFed discount. One of the dealers I contacted even asked me if I was a PenFed member upfront on our first email and was giving advice on how to maximize my incentives.
Yeah - PenFed customer service was a real challenge. The TrueCar reps manage the incentive and promotional rate and we're much more helpful.

In anticipation of a new BMW down the road, I opened a savings account with PenFed today

Will Penfed rebate work with the cooperate sales program?

Cooperate sales program means type G or S. So I assume they don’t?

Thank you!

No it won't. The only incentive type that is stackable with Corporate is Conquest.

Couple questions. I was a Penfed customer many years ago so my account was no longer active. Having to wait for my new account to be confirmed. Assuming that would be why it is saying I am not eligible though.
Can a single account receive this on more than one car? I have a M5 on order and X5 M50I (for my wife) so this would appear to be a significant savings opportunity for me.

You will likely have to wait the 60 days even though you previously had an account if that account was closed.

You can only use it once per year so it would be best for her to open an account also. Although the wording seems a little ambiguous by inserting the "per offer code" in there. If you get two off codes it may work.

Thanks for the reply, I will open an account for my wife as well to play it safe. I just got off with Penfed and they are unable to reinstate my old account. Maybe the delays being caused by the B&W shortage will workout in my favor. Should be good on the M5 having to ship from Germany, the X5 being pushed from week 40 to 45 may be ok at this point as well.

Just picked up my car today, happy to report that dealer accepted my PenFed code with no fuzz. I am not military but have account > 60 days.

Penfed sent me the two party loan check payable to both the dealership and me. However the dealership won’t accept a two party check. Not sure if Penfed will issue a new check. Otherwise will have find another way to finance. Such a bad experience…

I plan to go through the PenFed situation now. My code generates in November 15.

I wanted to check in on recent data points that I do NOT have to go through Truecar or IDMe process to generate the code, correct? I just need to use the Penfed BMW site to generate the code?

That is correct. You can print the certificate from the PenFed site it acts as an interface to the TrueCar printing process.

Also double checking, I can still use PenFed itself for car financing and still receive the $3250 rebate? My understanding is it just needs to be outside of BMWFS for it to qualify

Yes, as long as it is not BMWFS you are good to go.

Yes I just did that.

Odd. Penfed sent me 1 blank check; worked fine at the dealership. Sales manager filled out all the info, I just signed it. Easiest car buying experience I ever had.

So I was able to get my best deal and allocation. Discussing the various rebates and logistics of financing with them, PenFed came up.

I'm now anxious and nervous for the PenFed rebate code process with this dealer. My code generates on Nov 16, and my build should finish a few weeks after that. When I talked to them, they were first confused with the PenFed terms and processing it.

I then gave them the website and the sample code form I would generate for them. After seeing it, they said they'll process it as to them it's call "military discount", of course we know that's a legacy program from USAA-BMW affiliate marketing partnership from years ago. Takeaway was "so long as you are able to present a valid code form and your info matches your purchase info, we'll process it."

They mentioned with these rebate codes, BMW has 60 days to contest my eligibility, and if somehow I'm not eligible, they will "send me a bill". Apparently, I will sign some legal agreement that states how this would work out if they give me the credit first at delivery and I end up being ineligible.

They didn't inspire confidence but they were willing to play ball and process it. Anything I should be worried about?

thanks!

Hmm, after reading this, I think I can sit the dealer down and teach him the history of the USAA military affiliate marketing program history...

I think the point is, the same details keep getting rehashed over and over, while being obfuscated by other posts with meaningless nuances and information that isn't relevant or helpful. This leads to confusion. Listen to the posters who actually have experience at the dealership level and know the in's and out's.

Great info here. Much like Flying Ace, I'm looking to order and take delivery before year end. I'm in the PenFed 60 wait period.

My question is: The documents online are clear for 2021 model years, but NOT 2022 model years. And, a local dealer is pushing back on a 2022 build not qualifying. I could get issued a "code" but the code is "invalid" for a 2022 Vin Number; Hypothetically. Who can arm me with ammo to debunk this and make it valid and work for a 2022 build?

Further, anyone in the Bay Area have success with a 2022 that they have Already taken delivery? THANKS!! The devils in the details here.....

+1, I have exactly the same question. My M50i is scheduled for Oct, and will be here in ~Dec. My dealer literally said the PenFed form is showing 2020 and 2021, and to bring them the 2022 one when it's available, end of story.

From reading this thread, it should work, but how do we make it happen? Something along the lines of "I've read online it works even for 2022; by the way, use the 'j' code instead of 'g'!!" is suspicious, at best.
