Nice to see an update to the lane keeping assist, and reducing false-positive interventions; hopefully this will help with one of the issues I've personally experienced (noted here: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=11).

I wonder what BMW means by "the new Assisted View function". As I understand G05/6/7 already has this feature enabled since 20-07 software version.

By the way, anyone seen this update notification yet?

I have a MY 22 which came out of factory with this version of iDrive. One of the things I did within the first 24 hours was to disable the lane keep assist as it tried to kill me twice on US 101 in that short timeframe. I am not sure how bad it is without this update, but I don't see myself turning it on again.

Does assisted view also show up when only using dynamic cruise control in 20-07, blog link I posted above implies that it doesn't? In 21-07, assisted view is also available when using just the dynamic cruise control.

Yep - first thing I figured out what/how to do when I got it home from the dealer. May have almost killed me 3 times.

Steering intervention is the first thing I turned off when I took delivery of my G05, many owner do the same:

not sure what your vehicles are doing to you, but I have steering intervention. sometimes its a bit stubborn, but it hasnt yet actively tried to kill me.

My November 2020 built X5MC still has the same 2020-11 software that it got delivered with. Since BMW chose a crappy service (AT&T) which has piss poor coverage around here, I doubt my car will get the update.
They should have went with Verizon, but then the stockholders would miss a $1.00 extra a month from their dividends. That can't happen.

I did the same thing when I took delivery of my X5: I disabled lane departure steering intervention but kept the warning, and everything has been working just fine.

Conversely, I kept active steering intervention on for blind spot collision warning and I have had no issues with that.

Didn't realize the ATT v. Verizon thing, but you may be able to get it downloaded via your MyBMW app and transfer it from your phone instead? I don't see it yet for my F95 but I'm sure it'll come in due course…

2018 and 2019 G05 models did not come with Assisted Driving View (ADV), so this is potentially enabling it for all models, that have the right equipment of course.

it should only be the 2019 models and up, since that was when they went to the G05 platform and introduced assisted driving.

Question: How do you get to this screen in the My BMW app? I have an iPhone, with the current version of the app (1.6.3), and all I see under Settings is a non-interactive header for Remote Software Update, with some toggles for auto-download options, but no message for whether or not an update is available, and no way to manually check. What am I missing? Is this an Android only feature or something (to manually check and view status)?

It's on both iphone and android. Check Status->Services->Remote Software Upgrade

I don't believe there's a separate option. AFAIK, it is a single option and when enabled shows assisted view for both dynamic cruise control and assisted driving.
