It took my X5M 2 weeks from scheduled for production to production begins. Once production began it was at the dealership 9 days later.

Overall process took 4 months from order to delivery. The individual paint took extra time.

Scheduled or production begins? Mine was 13 days production begins to at dealership but delivered to Maryland. In retrospect I should have sprung for individual color :/

Roughly -

Oct 02nd: Production Begins
Oct 12th: Entering Assembly Line
Oct 13th: Quality Check
Oct 14th: Awaiting Carrier Assignment
Oct 15th: Dispatched From Factory
Oct 20th: In Transit (but this is wrong)

Sometime around Oct 26th I believe it was in Kansas City and switched from Norfolk Southern to BNSF ... and I've been told in the next week or so it'll be at the VPC sooo ... It's definitely not "in transit" to the dealer, so that's wrong & I'm not sure why it skipped all of other statuses ...

Anyway, the first part seems to match your timeline, but getting the west coast is taking quite awhile ... and there seems to be some delays / hitches in the system ...

What the east coast lacks in roads/weather it makes up for in ship times. What spec did you get?

I am in Kansas City so hopefully for me the glitches are after KC. Hopefully you get yours soon.

F95, non-comp, all options, Ind Ametrin/Ivory-Blue/Ash, 22s. I skipped the comp because (a.) neutral on the cosmetics (prefer brightwork with Ametrin), (b.) cancels PenFed rebate ... and I skipped the CF interior because it was cool in 2005 but I've had so much of it over the years, I just couldn't do it again. Not huge on the fine grain ash (I hate most all glossy wood trims), but I have the white birch in my F83 and it's been pretty awesome ... at a distance it's gloss white:

Up close, it's got a ton of detail:

Not everyone's cup o' tea, but I like it ... so anyway, hoping the grey finegrain ash doesn't suck ... if so I'll probably swap it out.

Also I"m trying to figure out the PPF situation ... given past experiences with just rinseless washes normally I'd skip it, but this car will get a lot of highway road trip miles so I'm thinking of maybe doing the front bumper, and maybe hood, just to help with bugs (most of the F95's front end is pretty exposed!).

Also was considering tint, but 2 different installers said to do it right they have to take off the door panels and ... eeehhhhh ... I think I'll hold off on that for now.

how about you?

Agreed on the bright work for non-comp and I also wanted the smaller wheels- love ametrin but my wife said no so I ended up w DG.

I’m with you on CF being way overplayed but didn’t like the high gloss on the wood so just gave up and got it. Could use some better trim options for the current gen M Cars. You definitely need to get the reflector blanking plates and spacers.

I’m in the minority but think you can get a decent respray for the price of a wrap. I was too impatient to do it when I got the car anyway. Looking forward to pics!

Ha, well on Ametrin, the dealer already had it on the allocation and it couldn't be changed so I had to go with it ... which is fine, but otherwise I woulda gone with DG as this will be a highway vehicle and DG is more stealthy. Really glad I did though, cause my order was 1 day before B&W disappeared and it looks like I might have slipped in under the wire ...

Totally agree on the wrap & respray ... though I've found someone locally who'll do the bumper with Xpel for $600 so considering it ...
