Why did you get the x5/x6m?
Curious why you got the x5m or the x6m over any bmw? Do you like the looks over the other BMW's? Do you like having power thats not in a sports car format? Curious!

the V8, the Ms always look better, got to save the knees as you go older, iDrive (get's hate but still better than a touch pad), least turbo lag and of course the best bang for your buck.

I drove an F85 about 3 years ago and liked it but wasn't quite ready to get an "M" SUV.
So the time had come and I don't regret getting it for one moment. Of course the looks, V8, versatility and all the luxury features that go with it just make it such a great all around package. |

Because I have low self-esteem and a giant inferiority complex that's so bad, it seems worth it to toss ridiculous amounts of money at it in a vain and empty attempt to impress others when, in reality, all I'm actually trying to do is impress myself; unfortunately, in the end, all I'm really doing is just proving to myself what a fragile, weak disappointment I am.

I'm probably the minority here, but I'll chime in. Suspension, handling and steering. I was unable to get the more classic bmw driving characteristics out of the G05 (steering and handling in particular). So X5M it was. Engine, M Exterior/Interior was just an added bonus to the jump.

I just liked the look of the G05 - it's such an awesome looking SUV.
When I came to upgrading from the F15 to G05 we had discounted Diesel and the Hybrid (45e) was a little too slow for my liking, so was looking at the M50i. When it was mentioned that the X5MC wasn't too much more price wise (at least not at the time) and realising that the specs included in the car over the M50i were worth it for us, I jumped at buying what has been our first M-car. 1 year and 8K miles in we have been pleasantly surprised how good it really is and importantly how it fits into the family so well. It really does everything you want from an SUV but so much more besides. Love the endless power and handling and I still look back at it after parking up - the perfect test for how its got under my skin and stayed there. |

Aside from the M8 the X5M is the best looking BMW to my eyes tied with the M5.
I had a F85 prior but went back to a smaller M3. It wasn't long before the wife regretted her decision to give me the ok to swap cars lol. The X5M is really the jack of all trades and gives you almost all the fun from a M3 but with way more usability. Alan

I needed to add a SUV to my M lineup.

Because I can....What else is out there with the same performance, daily driver ability and attainable on a lease?
Admittedly, I am excited about the new "supposed" upcoming X8M... |

Just picked up my X6MC…reasons where on demand performance on tap, engaging handling, on a solid chassis coupled with arguably the best interior (in its class), adequate utility for my needs and an unmatched on-road presence. Cross shopped the AMG GLE63S coupe and the X6M Competition simply scored better in more categories, for me.

Headroom and I think seating position is compromised in the x6m vs x5m. I have people back there maybe once or twice a year so don't have a ton of experience in general usability of the space.

I’m 6’3 and for me the back seat is slightly compromised, legroom not headroom (with the front seat set to my comfortable driving position). It shouldn’t be too bad for relatively short trips ( <30mins) but I wouldn’t want to sit back there for a 3 hr trip.
My back seat passengers would most likely be my 12yr and 8yr olds so for them, its perfectly fine. I rarely have adults over 6’ in my backseat so it’s not a major issue for me, hence my purchase. |
