Clicking Noise on Rolling Stop

My X6M started making these clicking noise when I apply the brakes on a rolling stop. Brought it to the dealer last Friday and they ordered a part (do not know what part is being replaced). Parts came in yesterday and the tech said it doesn't fit so now the shop foreman needs to figure out what to do next. Car has 4,000 miles. Anyone had this issue before?

I'm having a similar issue ?

When I back out of a parking spot, wheel completely cranked. It feels as if I ran over a walnut or something. I tried recording it outside of the car, i couldn't see or hear anything. But when I back out with the wheel cranked, it consistently has the similar bump feeling.

Maybe AWD ? No idea. Not sure how similar this is to your issue

Service just called me back and said BMW doesn't produce the same part for the X6M. Something about a ring that goes on the hub. Instead, BMW shipped them a part that can be 'modified' to fit the X6M. I'm not sure what to think of this supposed fix.

That is all normal it happens with summer tires when they are cold, it happens to all of us and its not something to worry, it happens even more in Mercedes Benz just Youtube it with word Crabbing we have written her many topics with same issue about that.

Definitely not this type of sound on mine. The best way I can describe it is putting a stick thru the spokes of a spinning bicycle wheel. That's what it sounds like.

Sounds serious, mine is like piping the tire or crushing a small pebble.

This was very helpful— watched the vids and it makes sense. I knew there couldn't be much wrong Bc driving in a straight line wasn't affected.

Thanks guys ! Loving this beast.

Got the car back today. They replaced the friction rings on both front wheels. They said BMW Engineering gave them instructions on how to modify the friction rings to fit the X6M. No more clicking noise.

Sounds like a clearance issue between rotor and caliper or pad body. wish you had more detail.

No other details other than they replaced the friction rings. Unfortunately, the clicking noise is back.

I have the same EXACT issue right now. Started noticing the noise at 500 miles. They did a brake job and the noise went away for a couple day and then came right back.

It almost sounds like a broken axle type of noise. It's hard to describe but I took the tech and service manager for a drive and they heard it too.

My car is currently at the dealer now for the same issue. They're going to replace my front rotors and pads. I hope it goes away it's ver irritating the noise is there because I lower the volume and look for it.

I agree that it’s irritating because we know it’s there and we hear every time we apply the brakes. They want me to bring the car back in but I’m going out of town so it might need to wait.

*Update

Picked up the car last night they replaced both front rotors and pads under warranty. As of now the noise is completely gone.

Scheduled to go back in on Dec. 7th. I hope replacing the rotors and brakes solves it permanently. I’m just afraid it comes back again after 3k+ miles of driving.

*Update 2

200 miles since the front rotors and pads were replaced. Still no noise.

Seems like the issue is finally corrected.
