Anyone with Hakkapeliitta r3 winter tires?

I got my Nokian Hakkapeliitta r3's put on today. 275/45/20's all around. First thing I noticed driving away is the noise, starting around 40mph. Very noticeable to me, even over music. Is that just how they are or does the noise decrease with use? I live in Minnesota and I heard they're a great winter tire, but was not expecting the noise. Having a little buyers remorse. I've had Blizzak DM-V2 and Michelin X-Ice in the past and didn't notice any sound with those.

I mounted the R3 in the same setup as yours and after 200 miles find them quiet and smooth. Could be the roads or perhaps you may want to have them recheck the wheel balance.

They are noisier than the OEM tires, but, through last winter, and just a few trips this season, it isn't all that loud or, so far, annoying.

Thanks for the feedback. I had Scorpion Zero RFT All Seasons on for summers and never heard them. The R3's sound like excess wind noise, not really a hum. But very noticeable. Had them on for a few hundred miles now and nothing has really changed. The ride comfort is ok. They're a little squirmy when I push it but I was expecting that (had Blizzaks before).

What pressure do you run the R3's? I'm wondering if that makes a difference in the road noise.

Mine are quieter then the stock 21's with summer run flats. Ride better too. Any chance they are mounted backwards- they are directional.

I just went out in the garage and double checked. I almost wish they were reversed, but they were all the correct orientation. I'm getting used to it, but it's still very noticeable when you hit 40mph. My Pirelli's were silent.

The computer told me to run stock pressures and the Hakka’s say not to exceed 45 or so depending on size, etc.

Good question about tire pressure- I pull like to know what others are running.

I WAS running 35psi all around but got tired of the TPMS message at every startup (for low rear). Tried 40psi yesterday and it is a different experience, now the I-Drive is calling for 35 front and 41 rear. Anything over 38psi seems too much.

Thoughts?
