What documents should I bring to the dealership for pickup?
I will be going to pick up a new X5 soon and I was wondering what documents should I take to the dealership?
I reached out to my Insurance company to have the car be added to the policy and they said that the dealership should be giving me something called an RTA, which the Insurance company will stamp and then I will give back to the dealership so they can register the car. Is this something that others are doing as well? Is there anything else I should be prepared to take with me? |

My CA requested copies of...
- driver's license front and back - insurance card (of vehicle I was trading) - registration card (of vehicle I was trading) - BMW Military Incentive offer code - BMW UDE identification code - finance company documents/instructions, who/where to pay, etc. I sent an email to my insurance agent w/the Brand, Model, VIN and finance company and receive back an insurance card and binder of insurance, which I forwarded to my CA. |

Sales program certificate Cashiers check Drivers license For the insurance, my insurance would cover the new car using the existing policy that covers other cars and it's good for two weeks. When in doubt, speak with your SA/CA, they should be able to tell you what you need to bring.

that's odd, my insurance company took the new VIN with no questions asked.
My dealer asked me for: 1. ID 2. payment 3. insurance card

I've heard of others doing something similar, where the dealership provides a document for insurance verification. It's great that you're being proactive about getting everything sorted out beforehand. As for additional documents, make sure you have your driver's license and any form of ID that the dealership might require. Although I had a case where I was unexpectedly asked for a larger package of documents that I didn't have. This could have had some consequences, but I was lucky because I came across fakeyourdrank.com. And I think it might be useful for you as well. Sometimes they ask for a proof of address too, so having a recent utility bill or something similar could be handy.
