I would not pay a premium price for a vehicle lacking premium options and/or features.
Unless you absolutely must get a new car now, would wait until the situation rectifies itself. |

Leasing numbers you can't get around, but it's fairly easy to find X5Ms under MSRP if you're willing to do PCD. It took me about 3 weeks end of august, early september but ultimately I had ~5 dealerships willing to discount and went with a local dealer who had less of a discount but was local.

Sorry, the list was a little long but here’s what I remembered: touchscreen, wireless charger, digital key, HK sound system (you’ll get a hi-fi system instead), certain passenger seat functions (lumbar support), tow hitch, possibly the M Sport package. I was told the availability is decided at the time of production. The dealers get the list as well. Some builds could luck up and get everything!

I'm in the situation where I need a car, I like the X3 M40i and the X5 40i M-sport.
The X3 m40i doesn't allow extended shadowline and is missing a few other options so I'm lukewarm on that. The X5 most dealers say they have a couple allocations for avail late Jan but only sell at MSRP no discounts. I don't know whether to buy or lease but leaning towards buy. I don't know of any incentives or ways to negotiate other than asking them to throw in some BMW accessories? Used to be able to use TrueCar/US News, or price shop between dealers. I do have a CSP corporate sales program but not sure what that even gets me I'm sure the dealer will say they don't know. I'm on the fence whether I should buy a $70-75k car and not get everything I want and yet also not get a discount really. Do most X5's usually have a trailer hitch? I might not use mine but weird to get a huge SUV without one. |

Even when it was available, it was up to the dealers how many they may order with it, and that depended on their market. It could return as an available option at any time, so it's hard to say what may be available even tomorrow. |

Hopefully the current easy credit run continues..to mitigate the higher prices. |
