BMW M Performance Carbon Diffuser for X5M/X6M

https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...bC12OC1nYXM%3D

Don't think I've seen pics of this anywhere before. Curious to know if its just the stock piece in carbon or if there are some design differences.

They also released the MP carbon exhaust tips and lowered the price of the carbon mirror caps. I think they realized charging 1K for one side was a bit ridiculous

Does anyone have pics of the MP diffuser?

Alan

Looks like IND Dist. still charges their huge markup of $2,795. for the pair of BMW mirror caps.

https://ind-distribution.com/collect...mirror-cap-set

So what do the BMW caps now cost from BMW?

Oem CF mirror caps are now $377 per side. In all fairness I think BMW just recently dropped the price on these.

That's what I was thinking. Though I bet some people paid the king's ransom and bought them.
I have to say, I do like them a lot. I wonder how tough they are to R&R?

I have had the CF diffuser on previous vehicles and the only caveat is the kick to open and kick to close feature becomes very iffy at best. I would say to the point where you just end up disabling it via coding as it no longer works reliably. The CF degrades the signals from the antenna.

Not sure if that will be the case with the X5M but something to look out for.

Same issue in my F80. I ended up stop using the kick to open feature.

Form > Function

😂😂

Hahaha on the F82 and F90 I said the same.

In the utility vehicle world I'm swaying more toward function hahahha

I can't find any pictures of the OEM CF diffuser anywhere on the internet.

I did come across another option from RW Carbon and it doesn't look too bad. Looks great on black car I may pull trigger if I can't find pics of the oem diffuser

Correct, it seems BMW lowered the price on them finally. We adjusted to their retail pricing now.

We should have the M Performance diffuser at IND in the next few weeks. Will post up photos once we receive it.

I had it on my F80 and there was a trick to keep the feature working. Instead of using the stock metal bolts to secure the carbon diffuser you need to use plastic plugs and everything works. Somehow the carbon grounded the system where the kick to open feature stops working.

Thanks! That looks exactly like the stock piece but in Carbon? I was kinda hoping for it to be more aggressive.

I bought a ton of CF parts for my incoming X6M

Interior
- steering wheel
- seat backs
- seat sides

Exterior
- rear diffuser
- rear spoiler
- “C”s in the front bumper
- side fender trim
- mirror caps
- front kidney grills

Definitely will post pics and write up once they’re wall installed 👍

Does anyone know if they make a CF piece for the gear selector/shifter?
