Sending destinations to car with 2 on your profile?
Is there any way to send destinations to just one car? When I send info it goes to both my new M2C and X5.

No problem with mine, but wait ... I only have 1 BMW
It sounds like they skip their FMEA when they design the app.

Ha! There is no evidence of a real engineer in sight anywhere near CD software or systems — no chance anyone there even knows what FMEA or any other term related to real engineering and reliability means.
Edit: and right on cue, this shit again (in addition to the Pontiac picture instead of an X5 insult):

After seeing a lot of issues/inconsistencies with their SW revs I'm not surprised anymore. They might have gone OOC that's why they couldn't release OTA. The consolation, which is most important at least to me, is the car's drivability.

At first I thought that since the G05 was new, as with any new sophisticated system, troubles would abound...and they did. Now the 2020's are out, meaning BMW has had a year to gather failure data, including any FMEA of their own and crank in the solutions. Hardware solutions take a while, you have to prove the solution, order parts, get replacements out to dealers, blah blah, but software solutions are quicker to install. So I am perplexed as I read new posts with the same software issues as owners first had, still unsolved. Really disappointing to hear owners post that they went to their dealer with software based issues and were told..."oh, the connected drive network is down". I don't know better and am of the opinion this is just a smoke screen now. I have not lost the faith but its now easier to continue waiting before buying. The issue with that is it gives me more time to go look elsewhere |

Yap, nice :-).
On the assumption that they care at all about doing a good job (they might, it's possible), I think this is a key contributor to the issues both with CD and non-driveline in-car software here -- BMW HAS NO WAY OF GATHERING FAILURE DATA from the field. Strictly speaking, this is easier with CD as the failures are so gross that the infra people can't not be aware of them. But at least for the in-car software, I have completely failed to be able to deliver my well researched and well documented set of bugs to BMW. They simply refuse the receive them, directing to dealers who cannot deal with the issue and play massively broken telephone when (or if) reporting to BMW. BMW has not figured out how to receive valuable and actionable user feedback for their software, I think they simply mostly DO NOT KNOW what the bugs are. |
