Reviving an old thread --

My 40i MSport with 20" 740M wheels and all season RFTs arrived at the dealer. It has Bridgestone tires. From what I can tell from photos, they are Alenza Sport A/S RFTs.

As of very recently, Tire Rack now seems to carry this tire, and only in the size for the 740M wheel (275/45/R20), but they don't have much information about them --> https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...45HR0ASASXLRFT. The tires are not mentioned on Bridgestone web site.

Anyone else get these tires on the 740M wheels? Does anyone know anything about them? Was hoping for Pirellis but I guess it's a roll of the dice.

Had anyone found other tire options for the 21" wheels? Tirerack only has 2 options and I'd prefer all seasons (Pirelli or Michelin) but the 315/35R21 seems to be a limiting factor

I can't seem to find a 315/35R21 winter tire anywhere. It sucks!

You can go with the scorpion winter 265 f and 295 r they are close to oem diameter and fit the 741 m wheels. This was my backup plan before going with dedicated winter wheels and tires in 20.

Do you mean 265/40 f and 295/35 r for 741m?
Honestly I don't see any 265/40 pirelli scorpion winter
Originally fronts are 275/40 on 741m

Wait what? BMW changed wheels specs for G05 to 5 x 112 and 66.6 bore... crazyy

Remember this is a 5 x 112 bolt pattern, with a 66.6 bore, hub centric wheels.

With this information in mind you can find some good options for winter wheels/tires online.[/B]

Does anyone know for sure what would happen if you mounted a 275/40/20 onto a G05 where the other tire on that axle is a 275/45/20?

I had the 275/40 tire and wheel as a backup spare for my f15 and am wondering what would happen if I used that on the G05, on a temporary basis.

I know the wheel size is different and would not be trying to use that, just the tire.

My X5 40i came with Continental All Season CrossContact LX Sport. I just noted today. I had assumed BMWs came with Pirelli. How good is the Continental? Who else got Continental?
I have no experience with this brand. I had Pirelli in my previous car and loved it.

Yes, just picked up my 40i and the 740m's are wrapped in Bridgestone's - I was hoping for Pirelli's for their ride and better looking sidewall (IMHO).

Got my 40i few weeks ago, Alenza 20s on it.
Don't like em, shopping for some 21s.
Would like lower profile, but our roads are not the greatest.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but this eBay link is claiming a 740M OEM and staggered. From my understanding, the 741M was a staggered wheel, but the 740M wasn’t. These OEM? It seems weird, no?

You are correct.

740 is square, 741 is staggered. I have the 741s and ordered very similar setup to the 740 spec for winters.

This seller doesn't know what he is selling and made a mistake in the listing.

Question for Europe buyers: In Cyprus the 20 inch tires also come as staggered. Is it true for mainland Europe/UK too?

20" M-Sport, as in the 740M's, they are staggered?

Yes, that is what I have understood from my BMW agent. seems to be 275 in the front and 305 at the back.....so wanted to double check with someone else in Europe. The price list just states mixed and run flat - I therefore assume mixed = staggered and my BMW agent seems to be right.

Interesting! Well that might explain that eBay auction I referenced above, perhaps they did make a staggered setup and they just don't sell it in the USA.

IMO, this is kind of dumb because all of the tire manufacturers make an all season 20" tire (staggered), but it's nearly impossible to find an all season 21" non-RFT, so you are forced into a square setup in the USA for all seasons...I couldn't even swap the tires if I wanted to, they don't exist!

If you can get the staggered 20", by all means go for it! I think it is a great looking wheel.

Hello forum,
I am getting a G05 X5 with the stock 19 inch tires. I know little about tires and wheels.. so my apology for ignorance first, but can I please get some tips about where I can shop for tires and wheels? The 20 inch ones look very nice. I live in Massachusetts. Thanks a lot in advance!

Why don't you just buy your X5 with the 20s instead of 19s? Would be simpler and guess less expensive than shopping outside for a new set.
