BimmerCode vs Carly
I've been happy user of BimmerCode with my F25. I would like to use it also for G05 coding. Looking at BimmerCode webpage, I can see, that the coding options are limited for now.
If I look at Carly page http://support.mycarly.com/knowledge...t-is-possible/ I can see impressive list of coding options under G05 tab. Does anyone have any experience with Carly? I don't want to underestimate them, but this list seems to me like universal list of options that "may" be available on BMW car, and when I buy Carly, I will find out, that only some of them work on G05. What do you think? Thank you for help. |

any company not willing to tell you what it will actually do, especially then it sounds outrageous, is usually full of it.
I call BS. But what do I know. |

I contacted Carly a few weeks ago, and they admitted their website list for the G05 is BS.
Bimmercode is ahead of Carly. I called them out on it (false advertising) and they promised to update it - but they obviously slow in this as well....... |

Over the years I ended up with both Carly and BimmerCode Full version Apps. BimmerCode is way ahead of Carly for coding our G05s. Here’s my recent exchange with Carly "Expert Team";
Me: "I have the Gen II Carly Adapter and the latest Full access IOS App. When looking at your coding page for an X5 G05 there are lots of modules you can access and features you can change. However when I connect to the Carly adapter and go into Coding, only one module is visible - what am I doing wrong?" Carly Expert Team: "all the functions which we are writing on our website are correct. In some rarely cases your ECU got a different Software. In your case it is like this." me: "Please advise what software version you do support on the G05." Carly Expert Team: "unfortunately i can not give you a software version number or something like that." The lengths some companies will go to so as not to admit that they screwed up, or worse, false advertise intentionally... Last edited by tartan43; 05-29-2019 at 08:54 PM.. Reason: Typo |

Autostop
By coding autostop, are you able to turn autostop off? My 2016 X5 allowed me to turn off this feature (so the car would not keep turning off at every stop sign, stop/go traffic, slowly entering my tight garage, etc.). My 2019 X5 does not let me turn autostop off. It is very frustrating to watch the car constantly stop/start. In the garage, the car lurches forward when I am only trying to advance a small distance.

So, after coding it, I kept the ASS disabled and the AH on, so everytime I unlock using my key, the ASS is off and the AH is on. Hope that makes sense. |

What is the cheapest adapater that works with bimmercode for our G05 X5s? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088LW211V...age=de_DE&th=1
or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XQXBWH3...ustomerReviews Anyone have any experience with either of these 2? The reviews seem to say the Wi-FI versions are much faster than the bluetooth ones.. Last edited by E70X5M35i; 09-25-2023 at 12:35 PM.. |

Yup, you'll need an e-net cable and a lightning to ethernet adapter for your iphone. There are kits already on Amazon for under $30, or you can buy them separately. They work great with both apps and, if, one day you decide to do coding via laptop, you'll have the cable for that already

One More Question: What OBDII Reader app supports E-net cable? I tried a couple off the app store but they didn't work.. they were either looking for a bluetooth connection or a wifi connection. Which one works directly with the e-net cable? |

I'm looking to read DME error codes (i.e. if the check engine light turns on one day or if the car runs funny). There are a ton of free apps that read dme error codes... it's just that they only seem to support Wifi or Bluetooth, not enet. Does that make sense? |
