You need to join CCA before you take delivery and then submit your rebate paperwork to CCA after you take delivery.

I think you can join within 30 days of purchase. It used to be you had to join before the purchase date. Check the web site for detail. But I would join now that way you are covered for sure. BMWCCA checks your submission and then sends it to BMWNA. BMWNA sends you the check. I submitted a rebate request last week. My understanding is that it takes about 4 or 5 weeks after you submit before you get the check. |

my only other question would be, if the membership is under me, but the car is in my wife's name, does that matter? should I add her as a family member as well?

I posted this in the other thread. Sorry for the repeat...
Gosh darn it. I don't know how some of you are getting close to 9% off MSRP dealer discount for 2020 models. What's your secret? My dealer won't budge past 5.3% off MSRP (MSRP = 71,820 which includes dest fee). I offered as low as 7% off MSRP and he would not take that. No mfr incentives/rebates. He knows we're ready to put down a deposit for an custom order. |

How much of that discount is from incentives? I'm assuming the 12% off you're getting is inclusive of incentives.

Fixed monthly rate - $713 (inclusive of 8.875% tax). Bank acquisition fee - $925. Tax on acquisition & doc fee - $82.09. Cash down payment - $2060.08 Tax on cap cost reduction - $182.83 Rebates - blank M.V. fees - $270. Doc fee - $75. Nys inspection - $20. Subtotal - $4328. Does the above sound about right? Any comments on the deal I got? |

2 things: 1) The only thing I would caution you on is the $2k downpayment. Putting money down on a lease is usually not a good idea. If your car is ever totaled, you've effectively lost the downpayment. Instead, I would put money towards refundable security deposits to reduce the money factor. 2) I could be wrong, but it looks like they're marking up the money factor. Base money factor should be 0.00145, it looks like they might be using something like 0.00165, so I would confirm that with them. |

Can you share the area from where you got this deal from? or even the dealership. I am struggling here where they are not even matching invoice for the outgoing 2019 model..

Dealers can mark up the MF as they please, in fact if you get a quote from a new dealer you've never worked with in the past and never mention your credit rating, a lot of them will mark up the MF by default unless you tell them otherwise. |

Putting money down on a lease is no different than putting a down payment on a loan. Should the vehicle get totaled, the lessor is paid and should there be any "extra" it will go to the lessee. That said, in some circumstances it may make financial sense to put money down on a lease but generally it does not. |

I agree with the other poster and put your $ down towards MSDs, which are refundable to you & will lower your MF below the base rate. From a pure numbers standpoint (MSRP vs selling price), that’s a great deal for a 2020. |

Keep in mind what I said, it is no different than putting a down payment on a loan. You lose that money also if the car is totaled early in the loan. Of course nowadays there are some insurance policies that pay for a new vehicle when totaled for both loans and leases so then there would definitely not be an issue with the downpayment if it makes financial sense. Once it is determined to make financial sense (usually in case of high MF and low RV) then just like most other financial/investment decisions, it comes down to risk tolerance. The odds of totaling a car are very slim for most of us so in my opinion not even a concern, some think otherwise. |
