The real reason is the X5 is the best luxury SUV of the new crop.
First time BMW owner. Previously owned MB, VW, and several Audis; however, I went with BMW because I think their cars drive exceptionally well, and make great looking SUVs.

I bought it just to piss my boss of who was driving an Acura TL at the time! The truth is I loved the color, looks, driving experience, and the fact its not built like a Japanese tin can. 174,000 miles later it’s still an amazing product that looks and drives like new.

Went to dealer and put together a 50i msport dhp ect. Fun car to drive and i can haul three of four bags of cement. No loyalty to the brand. It was between the x5 or the glc 63 but the glc was a
little to small for hauling.
Thats my reason.
You are hauling cement on a regular basis? You gotta give us more...

I am very brand loyal to BMW. Having owned 10 or so over the years, I have had very few issues. Nothing else drives like them. For me, every other vehicle is inferior, Mercedes included. I've owned some other brands, and I did enjoy my Audi A4 but ultimately it was so unreliable I had to get rid of it. I'm sticking with BMW for life!

We've owned a BMW of some sort since the E36 came to be back in '90 (I think). Never thought I'd be the driver of an SUV, er SAV, but I'm on my second X5 now with the G05.

In 2017, my son got a 430 GC. He travels a ton for work so the car would sit in our garage, until my wife started driving it and became hooked on the car.

So in March, we got her a 2018 340i at a steal of a price because they were making room for the 2019s. While picking her car up, I'd made mention that I wanted a new SUV/SAV since the lease on my Infiniti QX70S was near maturation. So I but the bullet and got the G05.

Now we're a full Bimmer family and couldn't be happier.

Edit: I also wanted to add that that the BMW brand shares a similar focus to driving and ownership priorities as all my Porsche 911's I have had for 3 decades. There is a DNA of driving focus in the cars that other German brands lack. From the 2 series to the 7 series it's there. The others can make some nice cars but that "x" quality just isn't there.
The BMW is truly a superior driving machine. I so wish they would pay attention to the details we have to live with.

I bought one because they used to make far superior vehicles prior to 2019.

This is my 8th BMW since 2006 and I just love they way they drive. This is my 3rd X5, had an E70 and F15. I think Germans make the best cars, but that is just my opinion. I had a new Lexus for 8 months and hated how it drove, so I came back. I've driven VW, Mercedes, and Audi but like BMW the best.

Came for the steering, now that it's long gone I've stayed for the Idrive.
